Ucheldir Highland Cattle - Bryn Pyll

Ucheldir Highland Cattle - Bryn Pyll Rare, traditional & native breeds We are a smallholding in Trefriw, near Llanrwst and Betws y Coed. A big shame as they were doing a fabulous job.

We have land at Betws y Coed and also graze a National Nature Reserve and SSSI - a Celtic Rainforest. Coed Ganllwyd at Dolmelynllyn National Trust estate, Ganllwyd, near Dolgellau. They are there to control scrub and weeds and protect the rare lichens on the trees there. We also have use of a huge piece of grazing owned by the National Trust - just down the road from these woods. There is a wonder

fully isolated holiday cottage there - called Hafod y Fedw, imagine staying there and having the cows around the cottage. To me that would be bliss :)
We used to graze the nature reserve Cors Bodgynnydd near Llyn Geirionydd owned by the Wildlife trust. We removed the cattle from there due to safety issues after losing a few. We all work as well and the farm is a hobby, busy, hard work and expensive, but a hobby all the same. We tend to keep rare and traditional breeds. At the moment we have highland cattle and calves, badger face and texel sheep, a Pygmy goat, ducks and hens. Sold my pigs and ryeland sheep. Do miss them but they were a lot of work.
*We sell beef and lamb when it is available. Lamb is usually available from around July
Beef in the Autumn/ Winter
