Hi everyone! 👋

So, one of the cats you often see popping up in my videos is Salt! 🐱 We actually have two cats here on the farm – Salt and Pepper. They’re brother and sister and are around 8 months old now.

They came to live with us as rescue kittens when we found them abandoned on the side of the road and have settled into farm life brilliantly. You’ll usually find them following us around, exploring the yard, supervising jobs, or appearing unexpectedly in videos! 🐾❤️

Do your pets like to help with jobs too? 😊🐱🚜🐔

Another day, another egg collection! 🥚🦆

Starting the morning with the ducks and seeing what they’ve left for us today. We’ll be back later to collect the chicken eggs once we’re home from school. 🏫

Let’s see how many we can gather by the end of the day! 🥚🐔🦆

Speckles is taking motherhood very seriously 🥰🐣

She has a large brood of Light Sussex bantam chicks and not a single one is allowed out of sight. Warm backs, cosy wings and plenty of mum’s supervision — exactly as it should be. ❤️🐔

Another trip to The Feed Warehouse for some of our favourite duck and chicken bedding Eco Crops UK eco soft willow wood chip.

✅ Highly absorbent – it soaks up moisture really well, helping to keep bedding areas cleaner and drier for longer.

✅ Low dust – cleaner air for our chickens, ducks, sheep and cattle, which is especially important in enclosed housing.

✅ Comfortable for the animals – the soft willow wood chip provides a cosy, cushioned surface for them to rest on.

✅ Sustainably grown in the UK – it’s made from renewable willow crops grown by British farmers, supporting local agriculture and reducing food miles.

✅ Natural and chemical-free – made from untreated willow, so it’s safe for livestock and poultry.

✅ Great after use – once composted, it can be spread back onto the land just like traditional farmyard manure, helping to improve soil health.

For us, it’s all about giving our animals a clean, comfortable bed while also choosing a product that’s sustainably produced right here in the UK. That’s why you’ll find Eco Crops Eco Soft bedding in our sheds, coops and lambing pens. 🌱🐓🦆🐑🚜

Good morning everyone! ☀️🥚

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for our Fir Tree egg round! 🚚🥚

It’s currently 16°C and a little cloudy, but it’s looking like it’s going to turn into a lovely day. We’ve got the fresh eggs loaded up and ready to go.

As always, we’d love to know what you’re making with your eggs this week – breakfasts, cakes, quiches, scotch eggs or something completely different? 🍳🧁🥮

Let us know in the comments! 👇🥚😊

📦🥚 Pack some Indian Runner Duck hatching eggs with us! 🦆

Every hatching egg is collected by hand, carefully checked, and packed with plenty of protection to give it the best possible chance of arriving safely.

We wrap each egg individually before surrounding them with cushioning inside a polystyrene box to help protect them during their journey through the postal system.

Did you know? Even with the best packaging in the world, posted hatching eggs can sometimes have lower hatch rates than eggs collected in person because of the bumps and vibrations they experience during transit.

These eggs are heading off to hopefully become the next generation of Indian Runner ducks, and we can’t wait to see how they get on! 🐣

Hi everyone! Let’s collect the chicken eggs 🥚

We haven’t got the Animal Garden eggs on today’s collection because Mum collected those earlier to make us a cake 🎂, so today we’re only collecting from the main laying coop.

We’ve ended up with just 19 eggs today, which isn’t very good at all. We should really be getting well over 30 eggs a day, so I’m not quite sure what’s going on.

The chickens are obviously still eating the same amount of food, so we’ll need to have a look through our books and see if we can work out why they’re not laying as many eggs as they should be.

Let’s see what tomorrow brings! 🐔🥚

Good morning everyone ☀️
We were up and out on the duck egg collections this morning as we’ve got an order heading out at lunchtime. 🦆🥚

The ducks have been busy, so let’s see how many eggs they’ve left for us today!

Time to get collecting! 🥚🦆💛

One year ago today Edward and Reuben set to on their first full deep clean of the byre since getting their hens.. 5 hours later… two very determined little boys cleaned out the chickens house. To think they were only 4 & 6 years old, they make me so very proud 🥲
