In November 2025, Graham Dawson, father in law (to be) to one of the Oakes’, suffered a cardiac arrest at home and was saved by his wife performing successful CPR, Graham now has a D-Fib fitted internally to shock his heart if it happens again. During Graham’s recovery in hospital, he pulled together a few friends and pitched them a plan to raise money for The British Heart Foundation… and the ‘Hampton 2 Lakes’ Fun Run became his little project alongside many other extremely passionate committee members.
The Hampton 2 Lakes route covers either 6km or 12km(2 laps) from Hampton Sports Club, around Barston Lakes and back to the Sports Club. Followed by a ‘Fun Day’ at the sport club with food, drinks and entertainment for all ages. Including bouncy castles, children’s treasure hunt, an Adele tribute act and much more!
Cardiovascular disease affects 1 in 4 people so get involved and sign up to the fun run today, or join everyone for the ‘fun day’ from 12noon to support Graham and help raise money and awareness for this amazing charity!
