Another exciting arrival at Ballyworkan! -
Meet Crumkill Steel (~)
Sire: Dunmor Jax (who’s from Luruha Randan)
Dam: Kingarrow Ewe that produced Crumkill Sid & Crumkill Ezekiel
This lad is twin brother to Crumkill Sonny Bill who has gone to Sontley Flock, Wrexham
Can’t wait to see what Steel produces - hopefully I give him the right ewes in the next few days 😉

Wasn’t a bad afternoon’s showing last Thursday at JSS NI Show & Sale at Beattie’s Pedigree Centre
All sold, apart from the big fella who’s back home if anyone is interested.
3 of the 5 are Ballyworkan bred.

So, the plan was to tip 12 ewes this year but somehow I’ve ended up putting CIDRs in 17 ewes this afternoon 🤔
In fairness, 3 of them belong to Four Towns flock. That still leaves me with 14 though 🫣
Do I lamb 12 or 14? Would 2 ewes make a huge difference? Is 14 the cut off for a small flock in the flock competition? What if I buy an in-lamb ewe in December, that would be 15 🤨

My one wee purchase from last night’s NI Show & Sale - meet Four Towns Triumph 🤩
4th place ram lamb in the show!
This lad has Crumkill Sid & Beltrim Kingston for grand sires & Pard House Apache & Grove Woody among his great grand sires.
I’ll probably give this fella a couple of ewes this year - he might just be fit for them 😉
