Chronicle Crafts and Bakes is a small Craignure based business specializing in bespoke cakes and home baked fresh food.

In the Cabin we offer a selection of freshly baked goods, breads, preserves and beautifully crafted items that are made here on Mull.

Hi guys, the Cabin is still closed and will remain closed for the next few months but we have eggs out daily in the pantry and there's some ready to use herbs in there today. Thank you for your kind words and support ❤️

On Saturday 18th april, we will lay Mum to rest and bury her ashes in the garden beside Missi, Daisy and Duke as were her wishes. It is going to be a deeply emotional moment for us, so we’ve chosen to keep it private with just close family.

Mum's last wishes in life were to spend more time in the garden and help it bloom as well as travelling the island and enjoying afternoon teas and lunches the way she did before we moved here. This was cut shorter than we could have imagined and I can't help with the latter but with this in mind, if anyone would like to leave a plant and message in her memory, you’re very welcome to do so by leaving it in the pantry, and I will plant a memorial in her honour. I think she would have liked that.

It is with a very heavy heart that we share the passing of our much-loved mum, Louise.

She was recently diagnosed with a rare cancer that had already spread and although we knew she was facing a terminal diagnosis, her passing has come far sooner than we ever expected, and we are all absolutly heartbroken to have lost her so suddenly.

She was deeply loved by her family, friends, and our whole community. She was an incredible woman who gave me and my brother every opportunity to grow in life. She taught me how to be a mother, a business woman and I know without her we wouldn't have this beautiful life on Mull.

I will forever be indebted to the lads who organised and safely brought Danny and I over to Oban when ferries werent available. Because of you, we got to spend the last 3 hours of her life with her. She knew she was not alone, she was loved and comfortable. I honestly can't express just what that meant to me.

Lastly I want to thank our Drs, nursing team and paramedics here on Mull. Your compassion and kindness is phenomenal.
To the nursing team and Dr's in Oban & Paisley, thank you for putting her comfort and wishes above all else. Thank you to everyone who reached out to offer support, even people we didn't know from oban, I can't begin to express what it meant to us during this difficult time and I will forever try and pay that kindness forward.

We are organising a direct funeral for her as were her wishes so we can lay her to rest as a family. Here are some photos of her in all her glory.

A notice to our lovely customers,

I wanted to let you know that our Chronicle Crafts and Bakes Cabin will be closed for the foreseeable future due to a serious family health matter.

Many of you know that baking for our little Cabin has been a dream my mum and I have shared together since moving here to Mull. But at this time, I’ll be stepping away from the business to focus on being with her and supporting her and our family.

We are incredibly grateful for all the kindness and support our community has shown us over the years. Your encouragement has meant so much to us.

Sorry for the slow replies for your Christmas orders... its been one hell of a week. Between boiler issues, a sick teen, a sick hen and a husband on night shifts its been a full time job just keeping the house warm. 🙃
Everyone should have been answered today but if not, pop us a message.

❄️CABIN NEWS❄️

We have knocked 20% off these tipsy cream cakes to brighten up your Monday. (They can be frozen also). They are out in the honesty pantry.

Our bigger news... we have decided, for personal reasons, that we are going to close the cabin now until February. We were originally planning to stay open but we need to prioritise family time this season. Sorry for any disappointment BUT we will still be taking your orders, still doing our catering and cakes that are booked. And if you're really desperate for an order, just get in touch.
I'll make sure to be advertising the crafts and honey and jams etc too so just pop us a message for what you would like and we can pop them out for you when convenient.

What a fantastic turn out at Craignures Christmas Craft and Produce market today. Thank you to everyone supporting us local small business's! It was wonderful listening to the choir too. Very festive 👌
