It is well worth checking your blades before the mower is put away.

Checking them now gives you time to identify worn or damaged blades and order replacements so you know it will be ready when mowing starts again next season.

We currently have genuine Perfect van Wamel replacement mower blade kits in stock for collection or delivery.

Made from a special metal alloy with hardened ends, the reversible blades can be turned so both cutting edges are used. The original nuts and bolts have a finer thread for a stronger fastening.

Do you have enough trailer capacity to keep bins moving this harvest?

Agrofer five bin and three bin self unloading trailers are available from stock and ready for delivery.

Both models use a moving floor to unload bins directly onto the ground. This removes the need for a forklift at the unloading point and helps keep fruit moving between the rows and the yard.

The five bin model is 1.6 metres wide and 6.01 metres long, with a load capacity of 3,000 kg.

The more compact three bin model is 1.3 metres wide and 3.64 metres long, making it well suited to narrower vineyard rows. It carries three standard 120 cm by 100 cm bins and has a load capacity of 1,520 kg.

A Bascule drawbar provides good manoeuvrability when turning in and out of tight rows. It also allows the trailer to tip gently, so the bins slide down the roller track to the ground without jolting the fruit. Folding footboards provide easier access to the bins when required.

We are looking forward to attending the Weald of Kent Ploughing Match as it celebrates its 80th anniversary.

The 2026 match will take place on Saturday 12 September at Hengherst Farm, Shadoxhurst Road, Woodchurch, Ashford, TN26 3PP. Gates open at 8am.

Good luck to all the competitors and thank you to John and Gillian Weller, the Lovejoy Farm Partnership and the Heathcote Family for hosting the match.

Grape harvest is approaching, so now is the time to check that the picking team have the snips they need.

We have a full range of ARS harvesting tools in stock. They are lightweight, sharp and suitable for both left and right handed pickers, with comfortable non slip handles for use throughout the working day.

The 300L has a long, straight 47 mm blade with a pointed tip. This helps pickers reach into fruit clusters and make accurate cuts in less accessible areas. The red 300L and HACCP blue 300L-BL models are 190 mm long and weigh 110g.

For closer, more controlled picking, the smaller 310 has a short, curved 26 mm blade. It also features a juice drain to reduce build up on the blade. The red 310 and HACCP blue 310 BL models are 160 mm long and weigh 90 g.

A grower near Canterbury recently tested the fully electric Fendt e107 V Vario across several crops, including mowing between rows of blackcurrants.

The e107 V Vario has a 100 kWh battery, with 55 kW of continuous power and up to 66 kW of peak power. Fendt estimates an operating time of around four to seven hours during partial load work such as mowing, although the actual time will depend on the task and working conditions.

The Seymour family had a great time at Biddenden Tractorfest this weekend. Did you see us? Nick and Barbara were entertaining with the Bursens organ, (sadly no steam traction engine due to Show fire safety restrictions) and then Eli and Angus along with a team of friends showed our range of classic Fendt UK & Ireland tractors along with the latest technology with the electric narrow tractor.
On Sunday, the opportunity of a solely tractor display in the ring was grasped and a superb display from a 1z to a 1052 was shown. Nick was asked to commentate and explain a little to the crowds about the different models. If you didn’t make it this year, hopefully see you there next year- it’s a superb event!

Ready for moving and stacking bins during harvest, we have one Tecno Agri tractor mounted forklift available from stock.

With a 1.8 metre lift height and 1,500 kg lifting capacity, it also features tilt and side shift and can be supplied with a Tecnoagri DV750 hydraulic bin attachment to rotate bins through 180 degrees. Capable of handling a maximum weight of 750kg.

Tecnoagri pallet forks are also available from stock.

We recently delivered this over the row Ero GmbH Profi Line vine trimmer, fitted with a BINGER mast, to a vineyard in Exeter.

The Profi Line trims the top and both sides of the vine canopy during one pass through the row. Its two cutting units can be adjusted independently allowing the machine to adjust to the canopy. Included as standard the comfort controller joystick allows operators to make adjustments from within the cab.

The stainless steel rotary blades have been designed to create a pulling cut that draws smaller shoot tips and leaves into the cutting area, while also being shaped to prevent trellis wires from being caught or wound around the blades.

To keep maintenance to a minimum, the V-belts don't require retensioning and the enclosed side elements and encapsulated blade bearings also help protect the drive from water, dirt and debris.
