Veg boxes are back!!

Stored winter veg and fresh out of the polytunnel goodies in this weeks box. We are creeping out of the leaner times now, and can’t wait for some more fresh produce in boxes next month.

Well it’s been a minute…

Feeling like I’m coming out of social media hibernation (is hibernation even allowed?!). We’ve had some lovely time as a family over the last month with weddings, school nativities, a very restful Christmas and heading out in the snow.

Honestly, i’ve not felt massively compelled to post on here recently, which from a business pov probably isn’t ideal, but at times it’s felt forced and that’s not how I want it to feel. Im sure having two kids in the mix has something to do with it too, but let’s not dwell on excuses😜

Here’s to 2026…hoping hard work, patience and perseverance means we can grow our business further, continue proving our lovely customers with seasonal produce and get building our house!

Last market of the year tomorrow at Tinsel Tuesday in Ludlow!

We will be there from 9am - 4pm with plenty of Christmas veg ready to stock your cupboards with.

It’s also our last veg box of the year going out too. So a busy one right before we stop for a well earned rest (with two very excited children).

It’s half term…

We’ve been moving the sheep around ready for the rams to go in next week. Despite it being cold, both kids were happy either helping or pottering which doesn’t happen often!! Must have been the promise of buns and hot chocolate🤔

It’s a quiet week work wise for one half of us, with half term activities and Halloween fun going on. 🎃🕸️🧛🏻🍬

A few days late but in last Fridays box we had:

Aubergines
Tomatoes
Lettuce head
Carrots

Last of the Summer Veg! This year has been the year of the polytunnel veg, mainly due to the crazy temperatures and still being able to water. The same cannot be said for the outdoor veg, however the rain has everything looking green again….ahhhhh☺️

Anyways…Last of the Tomatoes are out, ready for the start of the tunnel move!
Part of our planning app for the house build includes the moving of two of the tunnels in order to create a garden and parking spaces.

We are back in the Shire after a week away in Cornwall for some R&R and a family wedding.

It felt good to be home and check in on everything in the field/tunnels. Although a week of slow mornings and beach trips is also missed!

Back to it, with markets this week and veg boxes on Friday. A note…we won’t be at Ludlow market this week, but we will be at Moseley.

HHF Veg Box No.6

Yep missed the last one didn’t I!

In this weeks box we have:

Tomatoes
Aubergines
Beetroot
Salad leaves
Courgettes
Cabbage
Borlotti beans
Red Duke of York spuds

Summer is in full swing and at this time of year the bounty should be there in abundance, however this weather does not bode well for veg (unless you’re a pepper aubergine or tomato and in that case the tunnels are going mad. There’s even peppers turning red!!!). Everything is flagging instead of flourishing.

The ground is so dry as I’m sure every grower/farmer is finding. A weeks worth of solid rain is needed if anything going into Autumn/winter wants to stand a chance. Prey to the rain gods people!! Although my son would say otherwise, he’s such a fair weather farmer!!

Summer in a bowl!

Can’t get enough of Buratta at the moment…beef tomatoes and basil from the tunnel don’t help my addiction either. A match made in Italian heaven.

I will come back with some more veg/sheep content soon…we are currently up to our ears in the Summer holidays.
