Following an incident at The Raven last weekend I feel I need to clarify our position regarding young children on the premises.
A member of staff politely asked the parents of young children to comply with the policy displayed in the pub. Unfortunately, instead of accepting the request our member of staff was subjected to verbal abuse.
I want to make it absolutely clear, our staff should not be verbally abused for doing their job and enforcing the house policy.
The policy is in place for the wellbeing of young children in an environment that may sometimes be influenced by alcohol.
There are exceptions to the policy, if children are attending a one off function or event or have the specific permission from the management.
I must make it clear that abuse of our staff undertaking their duties will not be tolerated and the parents asked to leave and not return.
