The weekend after Cropredy Hash 2024 my home kennel turns 30! All welcome (and please share)
Newcastle Hash House Harriers 30th Birthday Weak End
In August 1994 a Viking invader decided to try and civilise the unruly Geordie nation by introducing them to Hashing, and since BEER was involved, it has been going ever since.
Join us in celebrating this suspicious occasion in glorious Newcastle and Northumberland.
Friday 16th August Black and White Dress Run from the famous Strawberry pub in the shadow of St. James’ Park on a sightseeing tour of the Toon’s over 250 pubs, with the occasional stop. Down Down beers in circle and a Strawberry Buffet to follow (no fruit involved).
Saturday 17th August Set off from Newcastle Central Station (train fare required) for Rambo, Easy and Walking trails in the stunning countryside on Newcastle’s doorstep, making your way back to the City for circle(s). Venue to be Premier League dependent.
Evening Bash with Bait at the Black Swan Centre in the heart of the city with a Ceilidh led by one of the North East’s leading folk bands.
Sunday 18th August Recovery run/walk/meander taking in Newcastle Riverside, Bridges and Quays. Circle and farewells to follow.
Costs: £55 for the full weekend (£1 for every degree North) Friday run/food/down downs; Saturday run/down downs/ Evening bash/welcome drink/food/live band; Sunday Run and down downs. You can order an event T-shirt for £15 plus goody bags for all participants.
Only 60 places available and registration costs will rise to £69 (to encourage you to come) from 1st July, so get in quickly.
