A great night was had at the Food Drink Devon Awards on Monday evening among friends, fellow producers, hospitality businesses and service providers from all over .

Made even better for us by winning a Platinum Award AND the Best New Drink Product Award for our Whiteway's Cyder Royal 🍎🍺🍏

The judges were.... "very impressed by the complexity, balance and flavours of this local Cyder. Really thought provoking, interesting and maybe one for the connoisseur."

Whiteway's Cyder Royal is made with a blend of vintage Cyder apples, including those from local, traditional orchards, which once served Whiteway's between 1893 & 1985. Tannin-rich, fresh pressed, pure apple juice is fermented slowly with wild yeasts over the winter months, resulting in a full bodied, well balanced cyder with complex flavours. A true representation of and tribute to the medium-dry 7.0% Whiteway's Cyder Royal produced all those years ago, label included!

Well, what an eventful few days that was!

From pressing thousands of locally grown cyder apples, to taking what we produce out to you at two great local events for your enjoyment (hopefully), to sitting back and taking it all in at the Food Drink Devon Awards!

Thursday & Friday - First apple pressings of the season.
Saturday & Sunday - Powderham Food Festival at Powderham Castle
Sunday - Exeter Gate To Plate with eat Festivals
Monday - Food Drink Devon Awards at Sandy Park, Exeter.

The juice from our first apple pressing of this years harvest is lovely quality and is now bubbling away nicely. Apples are scarce this year so every drop counts!

Great to see so many people out and about at Powderham Food Festival on Saturday & Sunday and also at the first ever Exeter Gate To Plate Festival in Sidwell Street, Exeter on Sunday! Thank you so much to everyone who came along to either event or in some cases both!
A little sunshine can go a long way!

Then to top it all off we went along to the Food Drink Devon Awards on Monday for a glam evening among friends and fellow producers from Devon where we only went and won a Platinum Award and the Best New Drink Product Award for our Whiteway's Cyder Royal!

All in all a busy but satisfying few days and there are more to come!

This Sunday 4th October is something to look forward to with the first ever eat Festivals Food & Drink Festival, where we will be among 133 local stallholders, doing our bit for local produce at the North end of Sidwell Street between 10am & 4pm.

No tickets needed and it's a great day out for all the family so spread the word and come along for a tipple and a taster or two!
