One of those mornings that makes you stop and smile ☀️💚

Blue skies, sunshine, a happy dog charging around the garden, and the veggies are absolutely loving this weather! 🌱

The courgettes, beans, onions, potatoes and tomatoes are all coming on nicely, and before long they’ll be making their way from garden to fridge shop.

There’s something special about growing your own food and watching it thrive. 🌿

🌱🍅 Garden Update! 🍅🌱

This video is actually about a week old now, and with all the sunshine we’ve had lately, everything has come on even more since then! ☀️

🥔 Potatoes are growing well
🧅 Onions are looking healthy
🥒 Courgettes are thriving
🫘 Runner beans are now even further up the canes than this video shows
🍅 We’ve got our first little green tomatoes forming – they just need some time to grow and ripen

The whole garden is bursting with flowers, looking healthy, and hopefully setting us up for a fantastic harvest. 💚

It’s amazing what a bit of sunshine can do! 🌞

Keep an eye on this page for updates from Gill & Bri’s Fridge Shop because it won’t be long before we have some beautiful fresh, naturally grown veg ready for you. 🥕🥔🧅🍅

🍓🌱 Strawberry Update from Gill & Bri’s Fridge Shop 🌱🍓

The fridge has been filled up again this morning Tuesday 16th June with freshly picked strawberries! 🍓

However, this will likely be the last lot of strawberries for this year as we’re coming to the end of the strawberry season.

If you’ve been meaning to grab some, now’s the time! Once they’re gone, they’re gone until next year.

🍓 Freshly picked
🍓 Naturally grown
🍓 Just £1.50 a punnet

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported our little fridge shop and enjoyed this year’s strawberry harvest. We hope you’ve loved them as much as we’ve loved growing them!

Be quick and treat yourself while stocks last! 😋🍓

🚜🥚🍓 FRIDGE RESTOCKED TODAY! 🍓🥚🚜

The honesty fridge has been topped up this morning!

We only have half a dozen eggs available, so they’ll be snapped up quickly, but there’s plenty of beautiful fresh strawberries waiting for a good home. 🍓

Pop by and grab some while stocks last. As always, thank you for supporting a small local honesty shop run by two very hardworking people who love growing fresh produce for the community. ❤️

Get them while they’re there!

🍓 The fridge has been restocked with fresh strawberries! 🍓

They went rather quickly last time, so we’ve topped it up again for those who missed out.

Just a little reminder that our fridge shop runs on honesty and trust. The strawberries, don’t magically appear there (although that would save us a lot of digging, weeding and watering! 😄), so please remember to pop your payment in the letterbox.

🍓 Fresh, homegrown strawberries
💷 £1.50 a punnet

Get in there quickly before they’re gone again!

Thank you to everyone who supports our little fridge shop – it really is appreciated. 💚

PLEASE SHARE THIS POST FAR AND WIDE!!!!
ALREADY HAD PEOPLE MESSAGING WITH NAMES SO THANK YOU
ALSO GOT ADDRESSES NOW THANK YOU!!

To the lads who decided my elderly parents’ honesty fridge was apparently a free-for-all today…

You took SEVEN punnets of strawberries in your couple of visits . Seven. That’s £10.50 worth of fruit that my parents have worked bloody hard to grow, pick, package and sell at a ridiculously cheap price of just £1.50 each.

Not exactly a mastermind heist either, considering you were caught clearly on the doorbell camera AND CCTV — with audio — happily discussing the prices while helping yourselves. Also one in white shirt put his hood/wrapped dark jumper around head on the second visit. Absolute geniuses.

For anyone wondering why this has wound me up so much: these are elderly people getting up early, working long hours in all weathers, trying to run an honest little setup based on trust. And today that trust got completely taken the p**s out of.

The footage and images will be handed to the police unless the £10.50 owed is paid back ASAP. Frankly, it’s not even about the money now — it’s the principle and the sheer disrespect.

I’ll be posting images, and no, I genuinely do not care if anyone thinks that’s harsh. If your kids are old enough to steal, they’re old enough to be held accountable.

Please share this post around locally. If anyone recognises the boys or saw them around today, please private message me.

And to the parents of these two little strawberry bandits: now would be a fantastic time to teach your kids some honesty and come pay what’s owed before this goes any further.

🌱 Gill & Bri’s Fridge Shop is BACK! 🌱🍓

And today is a very exciting day because… the strawberries have gone in! 😍🍓

We can’t claim official organic status, but we do not use chemical pesticides or fertilisers on our fruit and veg — just good soil, sunshine, hard work, and growing things naturally the old-fashioned way 🌿

The strawberries are fresh, sweet, and ready for you… but you’ll need to be quick before they disappear! 👀

🍓 Just £1.50 a punnet 🍓

Thank you all so much for supporting our little honesty fridge shop, it means the world to us 💚

Hoorah!

The first pick of this season’s strawberries today!
Had to try them out, oh my goodness sweet and delicious, and actually taste like strawberries unlike some supermarket bought ones! 🍓 😋

Have you picked any strawberries yet? Let’s see them! 😃

🌱 Brian’s Gardening Tips for This Month - March 🌱

The garden is slowly waking up again, and now’s the perfect time to get ahead before the busy growing season really begins. Here’s what Brian recommends focusing on this month:

🌿 Start early sowings indoors – Tomatoes, peppers, and chillies can be started off on a warm windowsill or in a propagator.

🥔 Prepare potato beds – Dig in compost or well-rotted manure so the soil is rich and ready for planting.

🌱 Sow hardy veg outdoors – Depending on the weather, carrots, spinach, and peas can begin going in under cloches or fleece.

✂️ Tidy overwintered crops – Remove damaged leaves from brassicas and winter veg to keep plants healthy.

🪴 Keep on top of weeds early – Small weeds now save big jobs later!

A little time in the garden now makes a big difference when spring really kicks in. Happy growing! 🌼
