What a day yesterday at the Royal Highland Show! I am absolutely over the moon with my Nithsdale Valais Blacknose flock and what they achieved.😍 Considering the older girls were all sheared for August i am thrilled that they did so well in their big classes without being in full fleece yet. To also achieve another 1st in the Ewe lamb class like Myree did last year was incredible, but then, for Nivalis to go one step further after winning the class and go on to achieve the Reserve Female Champion was just mind blowing.🤯 A massive thank you to for thinking so highly of my sheep in big tough classes.
Huge congratulations to all the competitors, in particular to Ayrshire Valais Blacknose for their 2nd year on the trot Highland Supreme win, with their Reserve Champion shearling and Harelaw Valais Blacknose for their 2nd in a row Reserve Male Champion.
A huge thanks to everyone who helped me on the day especially Emma Conway for doing such a fab job holding my girls and getting them into amazing 3rd places and also the biggest of thanks to my sister and mum, without whose help washing, the sheep would definitely not be looking like they did!🐏🛁 Another huge thanks to them too for looking after the farm and all the animals so I can actually be here at the show. ❤️ Ellie Losty Kate Losty

Well, it was quite a stressful week and only made it by the skin of my teeth as still washing sheep on arrival day but here we are at Royal Highland Show ! Sheep are in and settled, my heartrate has gone down and I'm looking forward to the next couple of days! Good luck everyone. A fab day out at Fife Show today! Brought home 1st 🥇and 5th in a very busy ewe lamb class, 3rd 🥉in tup lamb with 3 month old Nithsdale Nori and 2nd 🥈 in group of 3. Congratulations to all competitors and the Supreme Champions Spango Bank Valais Blacknose and Reserve Champions Valais Blacknose Stirlingshire - Whiterigg Flock with their stunning sheep. Big thanks to Raymond for judging too. Now for a cuddle with the doggies, lamb feeding, a quick dinner for myslef and then bed! 4am starts on 2hrs sleep do not suit me at all! 😴🤣

And with Westmorland Fleur lambing this morning that finally brings lambing 2026 to an end for my Nithsdale Valais Blacknose flock! It's been a journey, that's for sure, and i am absolutely exhausted with it happening to run into the beginning of showing season too. That certainly wasn't planned but Kain is a romantic boy and likes to woo the girls one at a time apparently.

Finishing up with two cracking tup lambs from Fleur and Nithsdale Kain . Not that I'm complaining at all but we've been very heavy on the girls again which makes a boy showing team very hard to get together! Will certainly be keeping an eye on these two as they're both looking good so far for the show team! 🤞😍

A fab first day out and strong start for the Nithsdale Valais Blacknose flock at Ayr Show (Ayrshire Agricultural Association) yesterday! A 2nd and 3rd in the highly contested ewe lamb class and a 4th for my 8 week old tup lamb who held his own and actually didn't look too out of place in a busy class with competition twice his age. I'm looking forward to seeing how he grows through the season! 😍 Was wonderful to see fellow breeders again and have a good catch up. It was also very encouraging to see some new breeders and faces coming out! Looking forward to seeing more of them along the season.
One thing was very clear yesterday, every Scottish breeder has stepped up yet another gear from last year with their quality of sheep so it is going to be a very competitive and hard fought season ahead with some stunning sheep on display! Bring it on! 💪😊
Well done Ayrshire Valais Blacknose and Spango Bank Valais Blacknose for taking Overall and Reserve and congratulations to all other competitors. And thank you to Robbie Taylor for judging, no an easy decision in some classes!

Well, it's very odd heading to bed at 5am with the sun rising after an all-nighter in the lambing barn...! 🐑🌅 3 more safe arrivals , all gorgeous girls, with JuliaAnnie (Myree's mum) and Irina (Katori's mum) deciding that 12,30 and 3am respectively were great times to lamb. 🤦🏼‍♀️🥴Pictures and update to follow.
