How do we reduce medicine use in our goats? More effort!

Everyone said outdoor goats can't work in the UK because of gut worms. This is how we make it work without medication.

Strip grazing: moving the herd through small paddocks every 2-3 days. Fresh grass ahead, rested ground behind. Worms don't build up because we're always moving forward.
Three electric fences instead of one (because goats). Its harder work and a bit of a logistical nightmare, but it beats pumping them full of medication.
Day 6 of this rotation. We adjust daily based on how fast they're eating and how the grass looks.
Those docks? Not weeds to us - their deep tap roots aerate compacted soil, and the goats love the leafy green tops. (Side note - docks are also good for humans! Just forage them early season before they go bitter.)
Outdoor organic. No medication. The way it should be done.

We’re expanding our local delivery routes 🛻

We’re now delivering more of our organic goat’s milk to homes across Devon.

You can also sign up for discounted regular deliveries along our routes, so your milk arrives automatically without needing to order each week.

On Tuesdays we head south, and on Thursdays we travel north to Exeter. Early morning deliveries, straight to your doorstep.

How it began.
Carrie and Clara. A present to Ross when we first took on the Farm in 2020.
Two Toggenburg goats. It was supposed to be a bit of fun but the milk we produced from an outdoor goat was something really special!
We milked them by hand until I said it was either the milk or me, one of us had to go. So we finally got a small milking machine. We put milk in to bags for freezing and gave bottles to friends. People kept asking for more.
A few years later: We're have over 100 goats, supplying customers across the country.
Clara, with her unusual markings still features on our bottles today. Carrie's daughter April and granddaughter Bonnie are key members of the herd now.
What started as a bit of fun has got slightly out of hand!
