This is what our partnership is all about…going through Seckford’s incredible cellar and pick out incredible selections for you.
First up - tucked into a bend of the Gironde estuary in southwest France lies Saint-Julien, a small village with a huge reputation for world-class Bordeaux.
Two historic neighbours define the area.
Château Léoville Las Cases
One of the most revered estates in the Médoc, founded in the 1600s and still family run. Its vineyards border Latour in Pauillac and the wines show the same intensity and depth. Cabernet Sauvignon dominates, producing bottles of remarkable power, graphite precision and astonishing longevity. Las Cases is often described as a first growth in all but name, with vintages from the 1980s still showing incredible life and the very best capable of maturing for half a century or more.
Château Léoville Poyferré
Owned by the Cuvelier family since 1920, Poyferré has built a reputation for generosity and approachability. Merlot plays a central role here, adding plush fruit, spice and warmth to the blend. Over the past four decades major investment in the vineyard and cellar has raised quality to the highest level. Today Poyferré delivers wines that are seductive when young yet still refined enough to age gracefully for decades.
Seckford’s cellar currently holds an extraordinary collection from both châteaux. From recent vintages that capture the thrill of modern Saint-Julien to bottles more than a century old, this is a rare opportunity to secure wines that very few collectors ever see. Quantities are limited and once these bottles are gone they will not return.
