Caecillian Utilities

Caecillian Utilities Your trusted partner for plumbing, heating, and property maintenance. Our journey began in the late 1990s as a small company of plumbing and heating engineers.

Welcome to Caecillian, a dynamic organisation with a rich history rooted in the utilities sector. Established in 2008, Caecillian has evolved into a multifaceted entity comprising two distinct brands: Caecillian Utilities and Caecillian Energy. Caecillian Utilities is at the forefront of national utilities projects, specialising in the gas, water, waste water, and power sectors. Our team diligentl

y delivers on commercial contracts across the UK, catering to a diverse clientele. From the early days of addressing private water supplies and internal blockages, we have expanded our expertise, taking on a variety of contracts and serving an ever-growing client base. In parallel, Caecillian Energy focuses on meeting the needs of our domestic and smaller business customers. More than just a service provider, Caecillian Energy serves as a hub for insightful tips and expert advice, offering valuable resources to empower our clients. In 2002, the team started to work on modest projects like private water supplies and internal blockages. The company quickly expanded its portfolio which called for a rebrand. In 2008 the name “Caecillian” emerged as a symbol of our underground expertise, inspired by the amphibian worm-like creature that burrows beneath the surface. Today, Caecillian manages a diverse range of large-scale utilities contracts for numerous clients, maintaining a steadfast commitment to excellence. Our passion for delivering quality services and addressing the evolving needs of our clients continues to drive us forward.

Another mains replacement scheme successfully delivered by our Water Capital team.

Working for United Utilities on behalf of OCU, our team recently completed a 2km open-cut scheme in Marton, Cheshire, installing a new 225mm PE water main.

The route brought plenty of challenges, particularly around access through the narrow rural lanes, but the team worked through these while keeping the scheme on programme and maintaining high standards throughout.

Just as importantly, local customers were kept informed and looked after while the work took place. The team’s efforts resulted in brilliant feedback from United Utilities and the surrounding community, including an impressive 22 WOW Awards across the scheme.

Our connection with Marton also extended beyond the work itself. With OCU, we were proud to support the Marton Wakes Fete with a £1000 donation, giving something back to the local community that welcomed our team throughout the project.

A great job from everyone involved and a scheme the whole team should be proud of.

Improving network flexibility and creating safer access for operators on our United Utilities Non-Core contract.

Working on behalf of Network Plus, Sam Lees and his team recently completed two important elements of work on the existing water network.

The first involved installing a new cross-connection between two 150mm ductile iron pipelines branching from 600mm and 300mm mains. This allows the two lines to supply one another and enables the 300mm main to be filled directly from the 600mm main.

With the network operating at approximately 7 bar pressure, a reinforced concrete slab was installed to securely anchor the connection, followed by a second slab to fully encase and protect the pipework.

The team also modified access to four existing valve chambers, where the original heavy concrete surrounds made operation difficult. After pumping the chambers dry, smaller chamber sections were built around the valve spindles and incorporated into a new reinforced concrete slab. The valves can now be operated safely from surface level, removing the need for operators to enter the original chambers.

Treated timber edging and a graded stone access ramp completed the works, creating a safer, more practical and durable solution.

A great job by Sam and the team, finding practical ways to improve both the operation of the network and the safety of those working on it.

Last week, on of our hotlay teams, Lee Blaylock and Dave Jeffery, spent the day supporting a community centre in Workington, where we are currently carrying out works on behalf of Northern Gas Networks.

The centre does so much for the local community and has a fantastic outdoor space, but the condition of the tarmac meant it could not be used to its full potential. Lee and Dave repaired dangerous potholes and repainted the lines, making the area safer for outdoor activities and improving the overall appearance of the centre.

Fantastic work with a real impact. Make It Count!

Customer experience is always a priority at Caecillian.

As part of our regular customer raffles on the Northern Gas Networks contract in Cumbria, Tracey in Carlisle and Alfie in Egremont were surprised with hampers following works in their areas.

Both had some great feedback for our teams, saying they were brilliant and no trouble at all.

Great to see one of our teams supporting TSS with the filming of a demonstration video for the F0CUS works management app.

The production crew joined Mike and Jamie on site to capture the system being used in a live working environment and demonstrate how it supports day-to-day delivery.

Thanks for getting involved and taking on something a little different from the usual day on site!

Over the weekend, Caecillian attended the Marton Wakes Fete alongside OCU, joining in with a fantastic community event and presenting a £1,000 donation to St. James and St. Paul Marton Churches.

We are coming to the end of a nearly 2km water main replacement in Marton on behalf of OCU and United Utilities, we recognise that essential infrastructure projects can sometimes bring unavoidable disruption. While these works are important, we also believe it's important to support the communities affected wherever we can.

Alongside OCU, Caecillian contributed £500 towards the £1,000 donation as a recognition of the fantastic work St. James and St. Paul Marton Churches do to support the local community, and their cooperation during the works.

It was a lovely afternoon watching the Rose Queen procession, enjoying the brass band and presenting the cheque during the afternoon's announcements. It was also great to spend some time chatting with local residents and hearing more about the village and the importance of the event to the community.

We hope this donation helps support the valuable work the churches continue to do for the village. Making a positive contribution to the communities we work in is something we'll always strive to do.

We recently brought Dan and Dylan together as a two-man team, and it’s safe to say it’s been a great success.

Working on behalf of Network Plus and Dwr Cymru Welsh Water the lads have received numerous accolades from Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water for their workmanship, tidy sites, excellent site set-up, and the high standards they consistently deliver. They’re a great example of what it means to represent Caecillian and our core values: Get It Done, Do It Right and Make It Count.

To recognise their hard work and the fantastic feedback they’ve received, we presented each of them with a £100 voucher as a small thank you.

Well done, Dan and Dylan - thoroughly deserved. Keep up the great work! 👏
