This city has an exceptional brewing & distilling heritage spanning from the brewery in Sir Henry Dowcra’s Fort in 1607, to the closure of the world-famous Watts & Company distillery in 1925. That day in 1925 spelt the beginning of a barren period for local beers and spirits. The beer market in particular has been consolidated and controlled by large overseas multinationals, with marketeers brewi

ng fizzy insipid lagers. The Walled City Brewery will make uniquely local, premium quality, fabulously flavoursome craft beers in small artisan batches, using recipes that Masterbrewer James has been painstakingly perfecting over the last 12 years.

🍻🎬 We've been waiting since September to share this... and tomorrow it's finally on TV! 🎬🍻
We were delighted to welcome Dermot O'Leary to the WCB as part of Series 2 of Dermot O'Leary's Taste of Ireland.
Dermot got properly stuck in during his visit — smashing oyster shells for our Foyster Beer, making lavash crackers from spent grain, tasting our beers with some incredible local cheeses, and hearing a few of the stories behind what we do.
The episode sees Dermot exploring Derry from the water by kayak on the Foyle to some of the city's fantastic local food businesses, including Pyke 'N' Pommes.
We're proud to have been part of showcasing the people, produce, food and drink that make Derry such an amazing place to visit!

Today is a pretty special day at the Wall City Brewery 🍻

Almost 5 years ago to the day, a sweet and innocent 17-year-old called Suranne joined the team. It didn’t take long before she grew into one of the most important parts of this place becoming a true key member of staff and earning the legendary title of S.A.M… “Self Appointed Manager” 😂

From keeping us all in line to bringing endless laughs, good vibes, and energy to every shift, Suranne has been such a huge part of the Wall City family.

Now the time has come for her to step out into the big bad world and head to Belfast to complete her degree. While we’re incredibly sad to see her go, we couldn’t be prouder or more excited for what’s ahead.

We’ve absolutely no doubt that whatever path Suranne chooses in life, she’ll smash it and bring the same positivity, kindness, and craic wherever she goes.

Thank you for everything, Suranne. Wall City Brewery won’t be the same without you.
