WE LEFT THE ELVES UNSUPERVISED FOR TWO DAYS. 🎨👀
And, remarkably, they’ve been quite productive.
While we’ve been closed, there’s been painting, touching up, sprucing and generally making The Pour House look rather smart.
Fresh paint. Same nonsense.
Which is probably just as well, because the next week is looking BUSY.
Tonight, The Pour House Runners are back in the house. They’ll do the running bit. We’ll handle the rehydration bit. Everyone playing to their strengths.
Tomorrow we’ve got DOCA packing confetti in the Cellar Bar, getting ready for the legendary Devizes Confetti Battle on 26th September. Which may be the first time we’ve actively encouraged people to bring thousands of tiny bits of paper into the building.
What could possibly go wrong? 😂
Then Friday, Bristol’s brilliant Arbor are taking over from about 5.30pm for our brewery showcase. We’ve got some cracking beers lined up, they’re bringing themselves, and you absolutely don’t need to know anything about craft beer to come along and enjoy it.
Then it’s the weekend.
People arriving for one and staying for three. Dogs. Chats with complete strangers. “What’s that they’re drinking?” Birthday celebrations. Laughter from somewhere downstairs. And all the other lovely little things that seem to happen here without us actually organising them.
Monday brings Talk Club, our men’s mental fitness group.
And then on Tuesday we’re doing something we’ve never done before…
Our first event for the Devizes Food & Drink Festival. 🍺🍫
Beer & Brownies with The Gourmet Brownie Company and Electric Bear. There are currently just eight tickets left, and we’ll tell you more about that separately because this post is already getting dangerously close to requiring a contents page.
So yes.
The elves have painted the bar.
We’ve got runners, confetti, brewers, brownies, beer, conversations, community and an entire weekend to fit in before Tuesday.
Seems a shame to make the place look this smart and not let anyone in 😂
Doors open at 4pm today. ❤️
Come and inspect the paintwork.
Or completely ignore it and have a pint.
Both are perfectly acceptable 🍻
