🐝🐝Here at Struan this weekend we took a delivery from a rather large articulated wagon!! Super skilled driver…found the tight lane no trouble to negotiate!!
Restocking on Ambrosia syrup … a top class bee feed for your bees. Maintaining bee health. PRIORITY.

🐝🐝we are almost at the end of moving the bees to the Heather here at Struan Apiaries, this is the time of year we work doubly hard! Long hours and heavy days! Very satisfying though! Now we hope for a fantastic Heather honey crop.

🐝🐝 our visit to this site was a bit precarious!! Some hives looked like the Leaning Tower… not ideal! Just another day at the bees dealing with whatever comes at us! The veil on the bee suit definitely zipped over at this one! 😆

🐝🐝both of us here at Struan have been awaiting a very special delivery, our final drop of the year of new queen bees… big thanks to all at thehiveguys.. excellent service! Delivery of our buckfast strain queens today meant some extra hours for a Saturday. These are now placed into nucs to give us extra hives, , nice strong colonies all being well! All in preparation ahead of Heather season. 💪this time of year we can hit the ‘June gap ‘which means the bees have nothing to forage on so need fed. We are between the blooms of spring/summer and what comes late summer/autumn, that being mostly heather for us!
Thanks to our wonderful postie for delivering safely , he must have been extremely curious 🐝🐝😆
