Happy Easter! Stay safe folks!
*** POST NOW FILLED ***
We are looking for someone to come work with us as a lambing assistant for a 2-3 week period starting around the 30th of March on our farm at Balblair on the Black Isle. The Irish student we were meant to have has been unable to travel over to us due to covid-19.
The role would including feeding sheep, mucking out lambing pens, moving sheep, helping with general daily lambing tasks. You must be physically fit and able to do manual work as this is can be a very physical job, no time for standing about on mobile phone. No experience necessary but would be beneficial. Practical lambing experience may be given to right person.
Working as part of a very small friendly team in the outdoors, so would be ideal for local person who's work has dried up due to the current world situation. Toilet and kitchen facilities on site but bring your own toilet roll...
Please private message us if genuinely interested. No time wasters please.
Due to covid-19 situation we are asking reps/sales people/visitors of any kind etc to NOT drop into farm unannounced and to come in by appointment only.
Picture not ours - for attention purposes only.
Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) now being declared pandemic by the World Health Organisation we have decided not to hold any of our lambing days this year.
Our concerns are for the safety of the public and for ourselves if we are exposed to the virus by visitors at our busiest time of year, and how this would affect our ability to look after our ewes and lambs at the time they need us most. We hope everyone understands and we will see you back for lambing live in 2021!
Event being held on Tuesday 21st January at 10.30am, starting at the Royal Hotel in Cromarty and then back to the farm at Ballicherry, run by SRUC together with SEPA. See link to book your space. Lunch included.
Please share.
