Listen in to the sounds of catching a swarm. This was a big prime swarm caught locally on Wednesday after a call from Robert Turrell . A lot of bees and probably from someone's hives rather a wild colony. By Friday evening they'd drawn the frames in the nuc box, the queen was filling them with eggs and they were ready for a full hive.

Inspecting a couple of recently acquired hives today. Two colonies going well into spring, but a good example of how the bees naturally draw comb when the box wasn't fully filled with frames. I'm hoping I can persuade them into a fresh new box over the next few weeks.
