🦙 NEW: Monthly Meet & Greet with the Alpacas

We’re adding a new regular date to the Hideaway Wood Farm calendar — our Monthly Meet & Greet with the Alpacas.

A relaxed 75-minute experience where you can spend time with the herd, feed the alpacas some hay, or willow, learn more about their individual personalities and take plenty of photos.

Afterwards, enjoy:

🔥 Time around the campfire
☕ A hot drink
🍡 Marshmallows to toast

Campfire and marshmallows are weather permitting.

Adults £20 | Children £10 | Under 3s free

Suitable for all ages and perfect if you’d like to meet the alpacas without heading out on a full alpaca walk.

We’ll also have special Halloween 🎃 and festive Christmas 🎄 Meet & Greet dates later in the year.

Ever wanted to try your hand at needle felting? Now’s your chance!

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to our upcoming needle felting workshops — beginner friendly, hands-on sessions using alpaca fleece from our herd 🦙

You’ll be guided every step of the way, and you’ll leave with a gorgeous little handmade creation (and probably a new favourite hobby!) 😍

You’ll also get to meet our herd of alpacas (the September session includes an alpaca walk too)!

Last chance. We’ve added one more bell tent for sale. Come and stay this Saturday 5th September and take the bell tent away with you the next day. Just £300 to stay and take the tent away.

The bell tents are in fair condition. We won’t be able to do inspections prior to the stay, but they are 6mx4m emperor bell tents made with cotton canvas. They cost approximately £800 new.

Sometimes all it feels like we do is pick up 💩 and pay the next bill 🦙

So this weekend was so special and very much needed.

Switching off and enjoying the farm with old friends for our annual camping meet up (minus a few who we missed)!

…. also, this second hand trampoline was the best £60 I’ve ever spent - sadly, it’s a health and safety nightmare, which is why it’s off limits to our alpaca walkers 🤣

Pizza, out of tune piano karaoke, communal farming, feral kids, blackberry picking, stream adventures, laughs. Needed it so much.

It’s very rare that we rent out the farm for events these days. It’s also a garden, a home, and we’re trying to focus on our own 🦙 events.

But when The Shire Apothecary reached out about an autumn medicine making day, it seemed to be a lovely fit - Andreea is a herbalist and she’ll be teaching her guests how to make all sorts of lovely natural remedies and more from foraged hedgerow treats.

Our upcoming alpaca walks are now live on the website up to the end of the year, including a Halloween Walk & two Festive Walks 🎃🎅

Come and join us for a stroll around the farm with our team of walking boys. We’ll wander through our newly planted woodland and past our wetland with plenty of opportunities for alpaca strokes and photos! 🦙

After the walk, we’ll gather down at the rustic Hideout for a cuppa (often appreciated after our winter walks) ☕️

Alpaca zoomies through the woodland!

As we have NO grass now at all in the paddocks, we’ve decided to let the girls out free roaming during the day.

They’ve finally found the shady woodland.

Sharing this video with you all, as the moment brought lots of joy to my day 😍
