When’s Lincs show?

Changing our beet drilling method was a leap of faith but we reap the rewards year on year.

40 year old beet drills may still be as good as the day they were built but they are old hat now.

Worked as close to drilling as possible with a Sumo Trio to retain moisture.

Drilled with 75kg/ha of DAP with a Vaderstadt Tempo.

Sumo Trio through first to create a consistent tilth, then straight in with the drill — keeping passes to a minimum and costs under control.

With fuel and labour where they are, it’s all about working smarter. This setup cuts diesel use, saves time, and still delivers a quality seedbed.

The drill is applying seedbed DAP at drilling, giving the crop that all-important early boost. Strong, even emergence and a fast start makes a real difference with beet.
