NO WAITING ROOM

What if you didn’t wake up tomorrow and your soul is watching down thinking of all the things you didn’t get to do yet because you were too scared, or too shy, or too worried about money. And all the things you told yourself you weren’t good enough for, swam in front of your eyes, fighting for a place in the line, beside the words you didn’t say and the joy you forget to have.

My friend, there is absolutely no room for anything in your day, other than acceptance. You will never have enough money, or time, and you will certainly never have that perfect body the world told you you need to be happy.

And before you say it’s too late to embrace this thing we call life, no it is not. You can do it right where you are. Right this minute. Get outside, breathe, look at the trees, put your bare feet on the grass - hand on your heart to feel that pulse - and that’s it.

You’re living.

Keep that up.

Wait up for the moon sometimes or get up early to see a sunrise, just because.
Jump in the lake. Run and skip.
The things you need to feel alive are free and all around my friend.
You just have to see them.

Let in opportunity and say yes to the invitations that scare you a little, in a good way.
Say no to some of the things you force yourself to do, knowing they rinse you of your peace.

Life was never supposed to be a waiting room, it was supposed to be a hillside, with paths leading in every direction and mountains as far as the eye can see, hiding adventures and new friends behind them.

Don’t let yourself get to the end of this ride without having stopped to smell those beautiful roses.
That’s the only thing you need to fear in this life.
Everything else is all part of it.
It’s all just a messy, complicated, beautiful and terrifying part of it.

Chin up, throw your arms wide open and let it be so.

Ahead of world su***de prevention day (Sept 10th).

The Ranch knows that Inspirational quotes can’t take the pain away, but they may allow someone the chance to shift their perspective just enough to give them a little bit of hope and get through another day.

It’s estimated that around 15 per cent of the adult population will experience depression at one point or another throughout life. And, accordingly to the World Health Organisation, that means there are currently over 300 million people in the world currently living with depression.
Whatever the cause, for some of these people, the emotional pain will become too much and they will consider su***de as an option of escape. In fact, around 800,000 people go through with su***de every year, and for each of those, there are around 25 times more su***de attempts.

There are many factors alongside and including depression and mental illness that influence a person’s decision to go through with su***de: chronic ill health, guilt, trauma, substance abuse or loss, for example. The tragic thing is that many of those who consider su***de don’t really want to die; they just don’t know how to deal with the pain they’re experiencing.

If you are feeling tired here are some scientifically proven tips to help ……

Skip the late-night scroll 💚

Spending time on your phone or tablet right before bed is a sleep stealer that might be making you tired in the morning. That’s because electronic devices emit blue light, a stimulating type of light that can make it harder to fall asleep.

If possible, steer clear of screens for at least an hour before bedtime.

Assess your stress 💚

Truth is, unchecked tension and anxiety can eat away at your energy levels and leave you feeling physically exhausted.

Finding ways to keep your stress in check — from yoga, to meditation, to journaling, to even just carving out time for a bath before bed — won’t just make you happier, it’ll put some literal pep in your step.

Do drink the water 💚

When you consider your brain’s a whopping 73 percent H2O, it’s no wonder that being dehydrated can zap your energy. The good news? If you tend to fall short on your water intake, just drinking more can be enough to get you revved.

It is said that one of the greatest factors in the success of our species is our ability to harness the power of collectiveness - the power of finding your tribe

And what a tribe The Ranch is 💚

The variety of clans, tribes or whatever you want to call them are endless. And according to experts, the importance of finding your tribe shouldn't be underestimated. These groups can provide a sense of purpose, a reason to interact with others and even proven health and wellbeing benefits

Here comes the Rain…

Unusually hot weather in Britain typically results in a three-phase reaction. Firstly, jubilation: no one is wearing tops (or sufficient SPF), every outdoor pub table is occupied, and Instagram is inundated with sunny day snaps.

Next comes exhaustion, as grey weather acclimated We begin to flag under the relentless heat.

And finally: concession, as we admit, sweaty and sun poisoned and dehydrated, that we really quite miss the rain.

Little wonder then, that recent rainstorms across the UK have been met with exhilaration. But why does rain make you happy?

Listening to calming rain is good for you because it helps you relax, sleep and concentrate.

Rain is good for you because it:

Improves sleep quality
Lowers blood pressure
Increases confidence
Reduces anger
Eases frustration
Lifts your mood
Improves digestion

Not all classrooms have 4 walls….

Just think, we could all remain within our comfort zones, happily doing all the things that are easy and undemanding.
It may well be that we would be happy living our lives this way, not knowing anything better.

Conversely we can challenge ourselves, take risks, seek to discover more than we know and enjoy those “brave new worlds” of which Shakespeare’s Prospero spoke.

This can be as simple as removing our shoes and standing (or, even better, jumping) in puddles. It could be climbing a tree, learning to connect to a horse or painting outside.

High-quality outdoor learning experiences are proven to:

Develop reflective and inquisitive thinking along with problem-solving approaches in ‘real’ situations

Encouraging holistic development of children

Develop resilience and adaptability in occasionally adverse circumstances

Allow young people to become more able to identify hazards and risks

Develop a love, appreciation and respect for nature and all that is living

Gives an understanding of how we can look after our environment

Grow in self-awareness, confidence and self-esteem

Participate in collaborative-working and communication skills

Provides positive health benefits – both physically and mentally – and assist gross and fine-motor development

Encourages a lifelong love of the outdoors

There are so many opportunities to get outside and learn 💚

Sometimes all you want to do is run away ..

Let’s get real: there are times in life when you’re going to feel overwhelmed. Whether it be with work, school, social obligations or just life in general, we all feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stressed at some point. It’s important to give yourself grace when you have these feelings. Try not to brush them off or push through whatever is causing you to feel anxious – your mental health matters and if you’re feeling the squeeze, understand that you can take a step back.

Be kind to yourself. Remember that feeling overwhelmed is OK, especially now. It also helps to remember that feeling overwhelmed doesn’t have to last. Give yourself some grace – if you don’t get to that chore or have to ask for an extension at work, you can. Your mental health should be a top priority

THAT’S ALL YOU 💚

Somebody somewhere smiles when they hear a song that reminds them of you.

Somebody somewhere laughs when they recall a joke, you once shared.

Somebody somewhere feels good when they see your name light up their phone.

Somebody knows they have a safe place to go to with you, should they ever need it.

Somebody is comforted by the thoughtful little gift which you gave them.

You matter.

You have created an invisible network of
thoughts, emotions, feelings, love and friendship,
which spreads so much further than you realise.

You.
That’s all you.
