Meet the artist behind one of this year’s flock. 🐑🎨

Sharon Brooks talks us through the story behind their sheep, ahead of it heading off to a new home somewhere across the Surrey Hills.

This sheep was painted around the theme “keep dogs on leads around sheep”. 🐾

The finish sheep started life on this artist’s easel for 4 weeks, with the trickiest part being getting the dog portraits to look right on a curved, skewed surface.

Great fun all around- and a brilliant reminder to keep dogs on leads around sheep!

Today marks the official launch of the Surrey Hills Sheep Parade, created by Surrey Hills National Landscape, with the full flock taking over Denbies for the very first time.

Swipe through to meet all 13 colourful sheep, each transformed by a Surrey artist. Which one gets your vote? 👀

And as it happens to be National Dog Day, there’s a fitting message behind all the fun. We love dogs, but around livestock, please keep them on leads. Take the lead. Protect the flock. 🐕🐑

Tomorrow, the flock officially takes over! From 11am–3pm, the Surrey Hills Sheep Parade makes its grand debut, with life-sized sheep transformed into one-of-a-kind works of art inspired by Surrey’s countryside.

The Surrey Honey Show is back at Denbies on Sunday 6 September, with Surrey honey to taste, local beekeepers to meet and live bees to see up close.

Honey, beeswax, cakes and even mead will all be put to the test by judges from the British Beekeepers Association, with judging from 10am and the cups awarded at 4pm. There’ll also be:

🍯 Surrey honey to buy
👋 Local beekeepers to meet
 🌿The vineyard to explore

And best of all, entry is completely free.

What’s buzzing in the vineyard this Summer?🐝🦋

Clouded Yellow butterflies have been speeding through the wildflowers, while the striking Jersey Tiger moth is becoming an increasingly familiar sight. 🔎

Across the estate, every plant plays its part. Dock supports the Small Copper butterfly, Ragwort hosts the scarlet-and-black Cinnabar Moth, and the chalk-loving flowers of the Dell create a natural corridor for insects travelling through the Surrey Hills. 🌼🌿
