Deanston Distillery Handcrafted Highland Single Malt from a historic cotton mill on the River Teith. Bold, waxy & made for the curious wh**ky explorer. 🥃

Located 8 miles from Stirling near Doune and just 45 minutes from Edinburgh and Glasgow, Deanston distillery sits by the River Teith at the entrance to the dramatic Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Having been a cotton mill for 180 years, Deanston was transformed into a distillery in the 1960s and has been distilling wh**ky using traditional methods ever since. Visit us and experience the sights, smells and sounds of a true working distillery and we will show you how we hand craft our great wh**ky which is sweet, fruity with a malty honeyed spiciness on the palate. We offer various guided tours of the distillery, which provide you with a great introduction to Deanston Distillery and our Highland Single Malt Wh**ky. Next week we’re turning 60 Years Bold. So, we thought it was time to turn up the volume.

Meet Deanston Virgin Oak Cask Strength – our 60th Anniversary Edition. A familiar (some might say iconic) Deanston favourite, bottled at a bold 60.7% ABV.

Expect everything you know and love – honeyed sweetness, citrus and that unmistakable Virgin Oak spice. Just with a wee bit more punch.

A man named Brodie Hepburn looks at a mothballed cotton mill and inspiration strikes – wouldn’t that be a cracking place to make single malt wh**ky?

One very bold call. And over the next 60 years, many more would follow.

Here at Deanston, we like to think we do things a wee bit differently. So, what better way to mark our 60th anniversary than by celebrating the bold decisions, unexpected turns and inventive spirit that shaped our distillery – and continue to shape the wh**ky we make today.

Sixty years on, we’re still doing things our own way.

Organic before it was the thing to be. 🌾

Deanston has been fully certified by the Organic Food Federation since 2000. Not because it sounded good on a label, but because doing things a little differently has always come naturally around here.

Our 2002 Organic American Oak is twenty years of that thinking in a bottle. From grain to glass, it’s 100% organic, matured in hand-selected re-charred American Oak and bottled at cask strength. 🥃

One organic Deanston? That would be selling the story a little short.

Since we started producing certified organic wh**ky in 2000, a number of organic releases have made their way out of our warehouse and into the world.

Different years. Different casks. Different whiskies. One approach running through them all.

The word ‘organic’ is easy to spot on a label. There’s a bit more to it behind the scenes.

For us, it begins with certified organic Scottish barley and continues through a production process that meets organic certification standards.

We have been producing certified organic wh**ky since 2000. So while Organic Month gives us a good reason to talk about it, the work started quite a while ago.

Organic Month is here and we know a thing or two about organic wh**ky.

Back in 2000, we became the first ever wh**ky distillery to be certified by the Organic Food Federation. So you could say we've been crafting organic wh**ky before it was even a category.

Throughout September, we’ll be sharing more about our organic single malts and the sustainability efforts shaping Deanston today.
