It was such a lovely surprise when Mike from Daisy Bank Dairy popped into the shop to see us. It genuinely made me feel warm inside.

The organic milk from his dairy herd of pedigree British Holstein-Friesian cows, goes into making the award-winning Trefaldwyn Cheese’s Trefaldwyn Blue and Ruby Red cheeses, handcrafted by his son, Glen.

Today we paired Ruby Red with Fuchs und Hase Rosé Organic Pet Nat and, of course, we sold out. This is exactly why we do what we do.

Behind every artisan cheese is a farming family and skilled craftspeople, making cheese largely by hand using traditional methods.

When you buy cheese from us, you are supporting British farmers, British milk and independent producers.

Thank you.

Running a small community business is ultimately about people. Everyone deserves to feel safe, seen and able to be themselves. We're proud to support those values all year round and grateful to work with suppliers like Suma who do the same.

Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

At Suma, we believe everyone deserves to feel respected, valued, and free to be themselves, at work and beyond. This Pride Month, we’re celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community and reaffirming our commitment to inclusion, equality, and allyship all year round.

As a co-operatively run business, community and care are at the heart of everything we do. From our Pride Network to the everyday support we show one another, we’re proud to help create a workplace where people can thrive as their authentic selves. 🌈✨

And with Suma Pride Month just around the corner in August, we can’t wait to celebrate together at Suma HQ and in our local community.

It’s the Soil Association week!

We’re proud to stock a range of organic wines, artisan cheeses and provisions, and most of our home baking is made using predominantly organic ingredients too, from fantastic local suppliers such as Side Oven Bakery, Green Growers in Nafferton and The Organic Pantry in Tadcaster.

Come and have a browse, we love to see you!

It’s The Soil Association week! The annual campaign to celebrate how easy and delicious it is to start your day the organic way.

Did you know, organic food is nutritionally different due to how it’s produced. Studies show organic produce can have up to 40% more antioxidant-rich micronutrients than non-organic.

Start simple with these organic, protein overnight oats made with Suma organic oats and an all natural protein blend for a plant-based brekky packed with slow-release energy and fibre to keep you going all morning.
