LETTUCE US DELIVER A VEG BOX TO YOU!
So far in the past few weeks we've delivered Radicchio, Curly Endive/Frisee, Lollo Rosso, Mixed Leaf and Little Gem to our veg box customers.
Whats your favourite lettuce?
If you want just enough salad leaves so that you don't waste the bag alongside everything else to make your salad the best thing ever (juicy tomatoes, a mix of peppers, red onion) and some free recipe ideas thrown in too then sign up for a weekly or fortnightly veg box. Next delivery spots available start 9th and 16 June.

If you’ve been thinking about trying one of veg boxes, now’s the time! We have 7 spaces on our weekly run and 12 on our fornightly delivery run. You choose the delivery that suits best for you
We offer 3 sizes of boxes - £10, £15.50 and £20. You can also request a larger box to suit your needs.
Basic £10 box is made up of a mix of onions, potatoes, tomatoes, mushrooms, garlic and seasonal veg - everything you need for sides and recipe ingredients
Standard £10 box includes some of the items in a basic box plus seasonal options such as sprouting broccoli, salad mixes, heritage carrots, baby aubergine etc
Large £15.50 box is for those who like to a bigger variety of veg and and will have enough to make at least 3 veg based meals per week.
Extra Large £20 box will have enough for 3-5 people.
For fruit bags we offer a £5.50 bag with approx 7 pieces of fruit or you can request a large Fruit bag at £10.
Our fruit and veg is sourced from across the UK (as local as we can get it) and Europe. We can tailor boxes to suit your needs and happy to experiment with the first few boxes to get something that suits you. We can also add in sourdough bread and fresh farm eggs.
Delivery is Tuesday afternoon/evening (£1.50 charge)
We deliver your to Dumbarton, Renton, Old Kilpatrick, Bowling, Balloch, Alexandria

PLAN B - GET A DRIVER
We are looking to expand our veg box deliveries but need a new member of the team to help us get there.

We are looking for a driver for Tuesday afternoons 1.30opm - 6.30pm (approx - we have a busy week and a less busy week each fortnight)
The delivery run covers Old Kilpatrick, Bowling, Dumbarton, Alexandria and Balloch. If we can increase our box numbers we might run deliveries over 2 days so future availability for another morning or afternoon might also be helpful.
You need to
- have your own, clean van with appropriate business insurance
- be self employed and have public liability insurance
- be fit and able to deliver boxes up flights of stairs
- be friendly and helpful to our customers

Having a vague interest in veg would also be useful!

We pay a flat fee for the delivery of 50 boxes of £75 and will negotiate a price per box as we grow. We are aiming for 100 boxes by summer.

PIPED TV IN DUMBARTON

Did you know our building once housed Dumbarton's Home Piped TV service

Before rooftop aerials were common and long before streaming or digital TV, television was piped directly into homes via cables from a central aerial. Families didn’t tune a TV with k***s like today - they had a wall-mounted selector box to switch between BBC and later STV channels.

Rediffusion, the company behind the service, installed large aerials in strong signal areas, captured the broadcasts and delivered them through wires to homes, particularly in towns where reception was tricky. Subscribers paid a weekly fee to watch TV. When we were clearing out the loft we found old receipts for piped tv along Dumbarton High St which we'll frame and get up on our walls soon.
