Ahead of our AGM in September (date TBC) we are looking for new Trustees to join the management board of the Community Carrot Community Benefit Society.

If you are a Shareholder and can offer any combination of time, skills, experience and knowledge, please consider putting yourself forward. The Board currently meets once a month, and beyond that it's up to your availability and enthusiasm!

Our Board of Trustees is crucial to the resilience of our Society, and each member makes a real difference to the organisation. Could you help, or do you know someone who you could pass this message on to?

We're loving the new Mossgiel Organic Farm milk and getting feedback that you guys think it's tastier, but it does have one noticeable difference: it's non-homogenised and that makes it behave differently than the homogenised milk most of us are used to.

How's that? So the cream hasn't been broken at high pressure to distribute it evenly through the milk. This reduces a processing step, making it taste better and also making the cream easier to digest. It also makes better coffee! Give it a quick shake before pouring to mix the cream through the milk a bit.

It does mean we notice a shorter shelf life - the best-before date applies to unopened bottles: once opened the recommendation is to drink within 3 days.

So nice to be back at set up for our first fire cooking session of the summer. Took a risk with the weather today but have brought a tarp just in case so please cross your fingers the rain stays off! We'll be making cinnamon bun dampers and watermelon, tomato & feta salad today, plus elderflower fritters if there's time. Birds singing all around, a robin staring at me and raspberries for the children to forage later - what a place to work 😍
