We adored this event. A calm sunny day, peacocks roaming the beautiful grounds of the Wedderlie Estate, and of course, a lovely big kitchen. Catering for weddings is always such a special occasion, the anticipation before and ensuring our team runs like clockwork during. We are grateful to have received some wonderful feedback over the years and look forward to what the future holds!

A wee pic of our classic Barbarella Beets water jars. We love filling them with nutitious bits and bobs, have you spotted them at our events? 😀

Sometimes we like to remember how far we’ve come. Our first night as Barbarella Beets was a pop up wrap night at Innerwick Village Hall. As we unpacked in anticipation, we expected around 20 people (thinking we had overprepped with 100 wraps) only to sell out with a queue down the road! We were equally surprised and grateful to say the least. To top it all off, a power outage occured, leading to the local minister coming to rescue us. Thankfully the spirits stayed high and have done ever since! Scroll for our cheesy grins at our first ever event!

If you want food that actually tastes good, don’t dump all the seasoning in at the end. Season gradually and taste as you go. Every time.

It’s always been my golden rule in the kitchen. Building flavour step by step is how you keep things balanced, bold and exactly where they should be.

🍽️ One thing I’m strict about: a clean spoon for every taste. It keeps everything fresh, safe and professional — and it’s just good kitchen habits.

Whether I’m cooking canapés, grazing tables or full-on feasts, this is how I work every single time.

Good food doesn’t need to be complicated. It just needs care.

Tuesday & Wednesday – Quotes, menu planning, supplier orders and logistics. The backbone of every successful wedding, corporate event and retreat catering booking.

Thursday & Friday – Prep days. Fresh seasonal produce, bold flavours, batch cooking, and serious organisation. Quality always comes first.

Weekend – On-site catering for weddings, corporate events, private parties and retreats. Early starts, long days, and food that people remember.
