The prettiest cakes don’t always have the easiest journey… 🌸🎂

I genuinely thought stacking it was going to end in disaster. 😅

Thankfully, experience (and a lot of patience!) won in the end, and she turned out exactly how I’d imagined. 💕

And the best part? The client’s family absolutely loved the taste and that’s the compliment that means the most. 🤍

Two flavours. One 16-inch wedding cake. 🍰✨

This was one of the biggest cakes I’ve made, and definitely one of my favourites.

The couple wanted Pistachio on one side and Matcha & Raspberry on the other. Instead of baking a giant round sponge, I baked two full sheet cakes, cut them into semicircles, and joined them together with buttercream to create one seamless 16-inch cake. It’s a technique that makes large multi-flavour cakes much easier to build while keeping every slice perfectly balanced.

For the fillings, I didn’t hold back. The pistachio layers were generously filled with pistachio sauce, while the matcha layers were paired with raspberry jam for a fresh, slightly tart contrast. I finished it with vintage piping, fresh raspberries, and touches of edible gold leaf before delivering it to the stunning Cambo Estate.

The bride later told me it was exactly how she had envisioned it and that it tasted spectacular. Messages like that are honestly the best part of what I do. 🤍

Now I need your opinion…

🍵 Should Matcha & Raspberry officially become a permanent flavour on the Curations Bakehouse menu? Let me know below! 👇

💡 Cake tip: If you’re making a very large cake with multiple flavours, baking sheet cakes and assembling them into the final shape is often more reliable than trying to bake one enormous sponge. It gives a more even bake, is easier to handle, and helps create cleaner layers.

Olive green might just be my new favourite cake colour… 💚🌸✨

This vintage heart cake was all about finding the perfect shade. I started with Rainbow Dust Pro Gel Olive, then added just a tiny touch of Kiwi and Forest Green to brighten it ever so slightly. Paired with raspberry pink piping, it created the prettiest contrast.

Every single detail was piped using my signature American buttercream and a mix of different nozzles to give the cake plenty of texture and character. And that sharp heart point… definitely one of my favourite details! 🤍

The birthday girl absolutely loved it, and seeing her reaction made all those hours of piping completely worth it.

So… what do we think?
Is olive green the colour of the year for vintage cakes? 👇💚

Some wedding cakes are beautiful because of the design. Others are beautiful because of the story behind them. This one was both. 🤍

It was such a privilege to create Hannah & Adrian’s wedding cake for their unforgettable day at Cambo Country House. Every detail of their wedding was so thoughtfully curated, and being trusted to create a cake that complemented vision was an absolute honour.

The sweetest part? Receiving this message from the bride afterwards:

“Hiya, I just want to say thank you so much for the cake! It was absolutely beautiful, exactly what I envisioned, and sooooo tasty 😋”

There really is no better compliment than knowing a cake not only looked the part but was enjoyed by everyone too.

A huge congratulations to Hannah & Adrian, and thank you for choosing Curations Bakehouse to be a small part of such a special celebration. We wish you both a lifetime of happiness together. 🤍✨
