Since January, Stories in Motion has been bringing women together at Dundee Rep, a creative project bringing together women from diverse cultures and backgrounds and exploring storytelling, connection, wellbeing, and self-expression through movement, music, play, poetry, drama, and shared creativity.
Part of the Fairer Life Chances programme funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, the project is a partnership between ScrapAntics, Dundee Rep Engage, and Scottish Dance Theatre.
Co-facilitated by Caroline Love Danso alongside Amanda Lowson and Bridie Gane, the sessions have grown into a joyful, welcoming space filled with connection, laughter, creativity, and freedom of expression 💛
Together we explored personal stories, creating a space where women could simply arrive as themselves, connect with others, and take time away from daily responsibilities.
Some of the words participants used to describe the experience:
✨ freedom
✨ joy
✨ connection
✨ transformation
✨ community
One participant shared:
“It took me back to when I was a little girl.”
Others said:
“It is really nice to leave all responsibilities at the door.”
“Connecting emotions to the music and how we feel—I’ve never experienced that before.”
“I felt really safe and free, and that’s because of how you have all facilitated the sessions.”
We still have 2 sessions left this term:
📍 Wednesday 3rd June
📍 Wednesday 10th June
There are still a few spaces available 💛
