Join us for an unforgettable evening on Saturday 7th November as we welcome back the wonderful Chef Joery Castel.

Originally from Holland and now based in Northern Ireland, Joery brings a wealth of culinary expertise—from his celebrated tenure as Head Chef at Castle Leslie to founding The Boat House in Belfast, which earned 2 AA rosettes and recognition in the Sunday Times’ Top 100 UK Restaurants.

Joery is returning to The Tasting Room with some autumnal flavours to get you in the mood for the festive season. Each course will be paired with carefully selected w**es from our exclusive cellar, curated to complement Joery’s innovative dishes.

As this is a set menu event we unfortunately cannot cater for any dietary restrictions.

Cooking steaks this weekend? (We might know a guy that can sell you a good one!)

Here are 3 of our favourite w**es that will pair perfectly:

Tenuta Ulisse Primitivo - A full bodied Italian red as juicy as Lowe Brothers Master Butchers steaks

Clos St Jacques, St-Georges-St-Emilion- Bordeaux and steak is a classic pairing for a reason, this is the one for a thick cut ribeye.

Marques de Tomares Rioja Reserva - perfectly aged in oak barrels for a creamy smooth finish. The smokiness of the w**e enhances that perfect sear.

Michelin have just released their first selection of the Chateax of Bordeaux and some of the decisions have been…interesting! (I think the Michelin inspectors are off the Christmas card list at Latour and Le Pin!)

The list covers a range of chateau across the region, awarding them either 1 to 3 ‘grapes’ or selected status.

While it’s great to see the inspectors looking outside of 1855, it also shows the pitfalls of trying to do any classification with something as subjective as w**e!
