Where we celebrated our local food and drink culture through one tasty ingredient, rhubarb, as part of our mission to make Dunoon the Rhubarb Capital of Scotland.

๐ŸŒฟ From Empire-building to herbal lore, every plant tells a story in the Dunoon Goes POP Drinks Garden.

๐ŸŒผ Tucked away behind the POP shop on Hillfoot Street, explore the plants, people and local heritage that inspire our soft drinks enterprise.

๐ŸŒธ Packed with over 50 species of flavoursome plants, you can touch, smell and learn about the botanicals used to make drinks.

Built using reclaimed or durable materials, this intimate walled garden has a drinks hedge, hops tunnel, trained fruit trees, many rhubarb varieties and a unique blend of aromatic plants that our pollinating friends adore.

๐Ÿซ– Sip and shop ๐Ÿซ–
Enjoy a rhubarb-flavoured tea with shortbread in the garden or a Dunoon Goes POP soft drink. We'll also be selling Dunoon Goes POP bottles and rhubarb plants.

๐ŸŒฑ Admission: donations welcome to support our Community Interest Company's projects.

๐ŸŽจ Are you interested in using natural dyes? Whether you are curious or experienced, this gathering is an opportunity to come together and share our experience, interests and questions.

Please feel free to bring along examples of your natural dyeing to show.

This is the first meeting and is an opportunity to consider whether the group would like regular meetings or be interested in future workshops.

๐Ÿ‘‰ We'll meet in the POP shop's workshop, follow through the gallery tunnel to the right of the POP shop at 28 Hillfoot Street to the workshops at the back left.

๐Ÿซ– Refreshments and attendance for a small donation to POP shop enterprises CIC.

๐Ÿ™ The idea for this gathering began thanks to Caroline Davidson's talk, Rhubarb: A Plant to Dye For at the Dunoon Rhubarb Festival in July 2026. Thanks to Beverley Soltysiak for hosting.

The Dunoon Goes POP Drinks Garden is also open on Saturday, 22 August from 10am to 4pm. A drinks-makers' paradise, the garden also includes quite a few plants used for natural dyes. Have a browse.
