First bit of Highland show prep started.
Spent an hour carefully going through Monarchs forelock, he has a very thick forelock so this was quite a challenge but I’m pleased with how it looks now… until he rubs it anyway. 🐏💙

While it’s been so hot ☀️The lambs spend most of the day sleeping in the shade but by the evening they are much happier. We are very lucky to always have a nice breeze from the East coast this time of year.
Sheep featured here-
🐏Nooky (showing his best Flehmen response- lips up to smell something interesting)
🐏Nero - very broad black face
🐏Nettle - running towards me for attention
🐏North Star - ringlet forelock
🐏Navigator - the most chunky leg wool
🐏Nexus - biggest ram lamb
🐏Kerfuffle - skipping ewe

I know we shouldn’t have favourites but Kerfuffle aka Fuffle (pictured), was our second homebred ewe lamb. She is as daft as they come, shouts for attention and will follow her humans anywhere!

She’s worked really hard this year, raised two gorgeous ewe lambs and now back in tiptop condition ready for the show season.
Last year she came 3rd at the Highland and was reserve female champion at Braco and Perth. I can’t wait to give her a bath in a few weeks time.

In the spotlight today- Little miss Notty, our chunky full sister to Monarch 🐏🥰. Notty will be added to our breeding flock once she old enough and well grown (at least 18 months old) .

We had a ewe deliver a quad without any assistance yesterday! Even the most milky of ewes cannot raise 4 lambs so we have taken two home to raise as pets.

First outing of the year - what a fantastic day at Ayr show. Fabulous catching up with friends 💕🐏.

I only had time to prepare a few lambs for this show but our little lamb flock did us proud in HUGE classes full of lots of quality sheep.
