Not all hero’s wear capes ❤️ they’re Grandads who pick little boys up from nursery and bring them to see you so you can carry on ❤️

Incredibly proud of the whole team today - the 🔧 boys have all smashed it out the park sorting a lot of problems to keep many farmers moving and the farm team…. Well apart from moving about 100 bales tomo and about 20 mins of wrapping left tonight…. silage 2026 will be done bar any bits and bobs!

Team work makes the dream work 💪

Al got home at 1.30am this morning and I left at 4.30am this morning. Ships in the night doesn’t come close at the min. But 2/3rds of the silage is done!!! Baled up some May hay today!!!! The Barley is loving life!! The calves and lambs are growing like weeds!!! The only disappointment is bloody Father Christmas stiiiilll hasn’t got the hint and bought us a silage pit!!! Maybe next year!

Yes it’s 9.30pm. Yes he should be in bed. No it doesn’t matter. Because keeping everyone fed and watered and home safe is more important. Look after your farmers. Look after your staff. Look after each other. Grass 2026. We go again.

Everyone meet Gummy 🐻! I’ve decided because I’ve got loads of free time 🫣 I’m going to halter train a lamb for OG so we can take it to shows and ploughing matches! (Yes maybe I am mad) I’ve never done it before and have no idea what to do but we’ll learn together ❤️

Prime candidate already being tame and obviously a 🐻 girl who will stay in the flock.

Yes it’s part of our job that they don’t all stay. No they don’t need to entertain those thoughts until they are much older. It’s a heavy enough weight to carry as an adult, let alone a child.

At 6 and a half, Tig is in her prime now. She epitomises the saying “right hand man” because literally we could not do what we do without her. She is as an important member of the team as any member of staff. Always tricky gathering ewes with young lambs as the lambs don’t respect the dog and a good ewe will keep standing up to the dog. Slow and steady always wins in these situations. The harsh reality is that Tig will probably only have 2 to 3 more lambing’s in her working at full pelt. It’s always tricky to time when the next dog is needed to try and not have too long without a trained and trusted dog but at the moment I’m very much just enjoying her being pretty much the best she will ever be. Anyone with Collies know it’s alot of work to get them to this point
