We appear to have rustled a few feathers on one of the local Facebook groups recently after an anonymous poster decided to attack our business regarding our signage and try to pressure us to take them down.
The poll they created however didn’t seem to go their way, with 75% of people in our favour, saying that we should just be left alone.
However, what is disappointing to see is that this option on the poll has since been removed, meaning that now, nobody can see the support for us, and instead, just those who choose to attack an independent small business.
I am all for everyone can have their opinions. where I draw the line is twisting a narrative to get your own way. We can confirm that our signage will be going nowhere, and if you have such an issue with us as a business, we suggest you come and speak to us directly.
Many of you know that the last year has not been easy for us, with Christine critically ill in the ICU and hospital for 5 months last year, and myself recovering from a stroke. So forgive me if our sole attention is on running our business and supporting our family, and not worrying about if our signs will offend the odd few simply because they don’t have a distance marker on them.
We have many loyal supporters and customers in Easingwold, and we will forever be grateful for that. But we do not appreciate being tarnished by an anonymous poster who chooses to delete the poll option which illustrates support for us. And shame on the admin for allowing this to happen.
We are in the process of designing new signs, and as i said on the original post have said, we will take into account your comments. But attacking a small business over something so trivial is rather sad. Either come and speak to us, or leave us alone.
We thank you for your continued support. And to those of you who voted in favour of us, we look forward to seeing you in the shop this week. There will be free cake 😉🍰
