Ive been sooo busy making preserves Ive not posted a frequently asked question for a while. So this weeks question is; How can you make Oxford (seville )orange marmalade all year when the oranges are only available for 6 weeks at the beginning of January. Well I buy as many boxes as I can from my veg man Pete Smith at Didcot Saturday Market. Weight them into 3lb bags (yes I still use lbs and oz) and freeze them until I need to make another batch. We usually put up to 100lbs (50kilos) in the freezer. It is also easier to cut them up once they have been frozen as the skin is softer. We won Gold Taste Award a few years ago for our Oxford (seville) marmalade. We hope you have enjoyed it too.

Last weekend WE thats Mick and I made 60 jars of strawberry jam for Millets Farm using their strawberries. They are now in the farm shop along with their fresh strawberries and other strawberry products. So go and buy a jar or two but not too quickly as we will need to make some more.
