We're an Organic Market Garden based in East Linton, East Lothian. Saturday Markets include our own stall next to Bostock Bakery, Edinburgh & Haddington.

We offer an Organic Vegbox scheme delivering to Berwick upon Tweed, Edinburgh and our local area. We run a Veg box scheme delivering fresh, seasonal, Organic produce throughout Edinburgh and East Lothian; supply Wholesale to restaurants and shops and are a regular feature at both Edinburgh, Leith , Haddington Farmers Markets and our own Vegshack Basil every Saturday

nburgh, on the edge of East Linton,is Phantassie House home to Phantassie Organic Produce. Originally only 1 acre of land, over 150 years of farming and through the labour previously of hard working pigs, the farmland has been dug and cultivated into 5 acres worth. As Organic farmers, the vegetables are grown using natural compost; crop rotation and companion planting aids the strength of the soil. By being Organic growers, the farm is certified BDAA Organic Standard GB6, meaning that the rules are very strict and checks are regular. No sprays or fertilisers are used on the crops, and no produce is genetically modified (G.M.).

Back at the farm this week we have our first pick of baby beetroots! All the tree blossoms have given way to budding fruits, and in the tunnels the tomatoes and beans have had a sudden growth spurt!🍅🫘

🛻Driver needed for Phantassie Farm, East Linton- immediate start!🛻
We are looking for a driver to deliver our veg boxes and wholesale to residential houses, shops, and restaurants around Edinburgh. Tuesday-Friday 8am- finish. £13/hour, or £14.50 for self employed, plus a weekly veg box🥬🧅🌱🥕🍅. Self-employed person preferred, but not essential. Clean driving license and over the age of 25 with a good level of fitness necessary. Job could be split by 2 people, 2 days each. Temporary, leading into permanent position if it works out for all.

First pick of our favourite salad this week, with lots of fresh herbs and edible flowers! We also have the first of this seasons curly kale and cavolo nero🥬! AND special offer on some Bitter Batavia! This is an unusual salad leaf with a very strong flavour, mix it in with a milder lettuce and a sweet dressing for an amazing side dish or starter! 🥬

At the farm this week we're busy in the pack sheds getting veg boxes ready and in the garden transplanting! Lots of lovely leaves and herbs from our fields comming to market this week! The horse chesnut is in full bloom and Kev is sorting all the logistics and deliveries we get from other organic farms (pictured here driving the vintage Manitou fork lift)🚜🚜🚜

Some exciting news from the farm office: We are finally updating our veg box ordering system! Our current veg box system was very cutting edge when it was made for us over 20 years ago, but is now in need of an upgrade! We are switching over to using Growing Good, who run veg box ordering software for a lot of local organic farms all over the UK. If you currently get a veg box from us we will be emailing you a lot over the next few weeks to remind you to sign up to the new system! We have a dedicated member of staff (Rosie) who has been helping set up the new veg box ordering site, and will be available to answer all your questions via email or on the phone! 📞☎️💻📨

Elsewhere on the farm the cucumbers and peppers have just been transplanted in the tunnel, and all the trees have beautiful new leaves! Rosie has also been sowing some flax seeds this week and rolling them in with Patricia's vinatge lawn roller!

On the farm we're planting out tomatoes in the polytunnels, and harvesting lots of salads and broccoli raab (leaves) which Ewa made into a delicious lunch for the farmers! You can cook broccoli raab similar to spinach leaves, add it to a stew or saute it with garlic 🥬🥦🧄

This week at the farm the blossoms continue to bloom (this one's an Apple 🌸🍏) and the bean seedlings in the walled garden are starting the sprout along thier new and improved trellis (aka Bean Henge)! The gardeners have a new watering system that looks like a tiny tractor 🚜, great for keeping everything hydrated in this warm weather! 🌞Happy Beltane everyone!🌞
