Yesterday it was chocolate. Today it is meat. Amazing how they want it all available to buy in the supermarket by 2027. This is a great little video if you have a few minutes to spare. Some scary times ahead folks.

What a horrendous slippery slope we are on. It is being sold as progress and planet saving but in reality it is yet another move away from real food and the control of the food supply is being passed to corporations and big food. Clearly the drive to eradicate small farms is world wide, not just saved for us in the UK.

You may notice that we don't use branded chocolate in any of our bakes in the farm shop and this is quite intentional. We only use real chocolate with real milk and cocoa. Yes it is much more expensive and the prices have rocketed in the last year but we would rather not bake with chocolate than sell out and use the fake version.

Who can guess which classic cake will be making an appearance tomorrow. Always homemade, always with real ingredients.

We have quite a few people ask us if we will ever open on a Sunday and unfortunately the answer is no.
Firstly, we are a small family business and we do absolutely everything ourselves from looking after the animals we eventually sell in the shop, butchering the meat, curing the bacon, making and baking all of our pies, pastries, ready meals and cakes etc.
Secondly we also have children and Sunday is really the only day we get to do something all together as a family and have as much of a day off as we can around all the usual farm chores.
Working on a Sunday would mean I would miss days like today, where George played in his first singles golf match and won.
Times like these are precious and are the reason Sundays are a big no for us.

We have some rind on, dry cured middle bacon available in the shop today. All of our bacon is made here on site using traditional dry curing methods from our home reared, free range pigs. If it is popular it is something that we can make more of.

A little update from Evie and of course it is foodie related. If you have a spare two minutes and want a giggle give it a listen. Classic Evie with a cracking quote to finish.

God knows how she is going to survive 3 months 🤣

Just on the main road on the left as you come into the village from Leverton. Lots of freshly laid very free range eggs.

The Egg Shed is open and fully stocked ready for your bank holiday breakfasts.

With it being very warm the eggs are all in cool bags or sat on top of ice packs - so have a good rummage around for what you need.

There are limited duck eggs and blue eggs this weekend, so grab them while you can.
