Windmill View Plant Centre We are unique in that we are not a garden centre, but a PLANT centre, and are completely passionate about our plants! See our website for further details.

We love to share our enthusiasm with customers. You will find the largest range of plants in the area plus helpful, friendly staff. We stock fruit and ornamental trees, alpines, heathers, conifers, shrubs, climbers, perennials , herbs and more. We also have a range of composts, fertilisers and pots.

🍁New autumn stock has just arrived!!🍁

The first batch of our autumn pansies and violas are here, packs of 20 in a range of lovely colours

We’ve also got a range of stunning Heuchera, 15 different varieties giving leaf colour to pots and borders

Now taking orders for new & refilled autumn/winter hanging baskets, these will be ready from mid September onwards. Please message or pop in to order.

Please note we have taken the decision to close today (Thursday 13 August) as it is just too hot for either customers or staff to be inside our glasshouses.

We have tried to remain open throughout these heatwaves, but working in a glasshouse or polytunnel during the warmest part of the day is not safe for our staff as the temperature can be 10 degrees hotter than the outside temperature.

Yesterday we only had 4 customers braving the heat in the entire 6 hours of being open!!

We will be open on Saturday as usual and we apologise to anyone who was intending to visit today

Some new plants have just arrived!!!

We’ve chosen drought tolerant perennials such as Echinacea (orange and white) Salvia Hot Lips,
grasses including Carex and purple pennisetum and gorgeous colourful Coprosma

These will need watering until they’re established but then they will be drought tolerant for future hot summers!

We have been asked several times why we aren’t buying lots of new stock in over the summer, but due to the dry conditions and excessive hot weather we think it’s best to wait until the autumn now for most things….. this was a one off delivery yesterday.
