I can’t wait for you all to try these once the shed is back open again! We completely sold out at the coffee cart yesterday, and we even had customers coming back to the cart to tell us how unreal they were🥹🤎 Fresh batch on the way to The Steaming Stag now👌🏻

Missing our bakes, theres plenty in the coffee cart today 🤤

These were all baked fresh at 1am this morning and we’ve been told the cookies and school cake are pretty hard to beat 😉 We’ve also got Caramelitas in the cart for the first time and honestly, they looked so good! 🤤 Secretly hoping there’s one left 👀
Our bakes tend to sell FAST, so make sure you grab your favourites while you can! 🏃‍♀️💨

🤎 A little update from Cakes By The Gate🤎

The Shed will be closed until the last weekend in August.

I have been absolutely run off my feet lately between work, the boys being off school, and trying to juggle everything in between. We’re also heading away on holiday next weekend for a week, so I’ve made the decision that it’s best to close up until we are back, enjoy some proper family time, and come back refreshed rather than constantly stressing and worrying about whether I’ll be able to open.

Please believe me when I say it kills me not being able to open for you all, I hate letting anyone down. But sometimes life just gets a little too busy, and I need to take a step back and breathe.
I work nightshift, we have 3 boys, the hubby is at the coffee cart mon-sat all day then to his mma training straight after so trying to balance everything can be a lot and at the min i feel like a yoyo and I’m here, there and everywhere 🤣

I’m so, so sorry for these past few weeks of not being open as much as I would have liked. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your patience, your understanding and for continuing to support me. It honestly means more than you know. 🥹🤎

BUT… you can still get your cake fix! 🍰🍪

There will be a selection of cakes and cookies available at our coffee cart The Steaming Stag in Omagh every week but it will also be closed from the 16th until the 23rd due to being on holiday☕️🤎

So although The Shed is having a little break, you can still grab some sweet treats. I’ll see you all the last weekend in August feeling rested, refreshed and ready to get back at it! 🤎

CLOSED THIS WEEKEND 🫶🏼

Well... life got me again this week. 😂

The past couple of weeks i picked up extra night shifts, the kids are on summer holidays (send help 😅), and somehow Wednesday, Thursday and Friday disappeared before I'd even had a chance to think about baking.

I know some bakers get organised and bake a few days ahead... I am not one of those people. 🤣 If you know me, you'll know I'm usually up to my eyeballs in flour the day before and the morning of because I like everything going out as fresh as it possibly can. It probably gives me more stress, but it means your bakes stay fresher for longer, and that's something I won't compromise on.

So instead of pulling an all nighter, surviving on caffeine and ending up looking like I've been hit by a bus, I've decided to admit defeat again this week. (Im not very good at this juggling am i?) 😂🙈
Sometimes life just gets a bit too life-y, and this week definitely won.

I'm so sorry if you were hoping for a cake or cookie fix this weekend! Thank you all for being so understanding and for supporting my little business, even when its not open ❤️

Im hopeful next week is calmer and slightly more organised (we can all laugh at that 😂).

Well... that didn't last long! 😭🌧️ Where has the 25–30° weather disappeared to?! It's definitely feeling a lot more like a cosy Sunday now! 🥶🍂

The good news is... we're OPEN!

Good evening everyone! Just a quick update, I'm on night shift tonight and still have some baking and packaging to finish in the morning. The shed will be open from 12:30pm.
