Before.. the mayhem of yesterdays journey to abbatoir and back moved home grown wedder lambs, today checked over everything.

And sent pork away to customers, and delivered more native breed hebridean hogget to Maggie's Fruit & Veg Ltd .

Its fantastic to feel support growing and selling food. And all the benefits good grazing gives to wider species and environment.

As well as the nutrional value this breed produces through the way they graze and age.

Food producers get a hard line from the public sometimes.. not everyone produces in the same way is the simplest statement to have understood...

Journey to Dingwall today to abbatoir. Last run of hogget this year.. just hard to find butchery and abbatoir time... nothing left available till 2027.

Pretty wild to think its only a week or so until we head to Belfast for BBC Food food and and farming awards.

Where we are in the top 3 ..

Part of our drive is using as much of our animals as we can, trying not to let anything go to waste.

So hearing from our good friend Karen Parker and seeing these lard balls for the wild birds. And lard that she's made from our mangalitsa pigs is just wonderful.
