Don’t judge. Hard boiled eggs can be good too, especially when they paired with some carrots, basil, the fresh crunchy things on wilted spinach. Lots of and evoo. I don’t talk about my relationship with bread on here. It is complicated. It has gotten more and more complex over the years. I mostly ate on gluten free foods just to a avoid all the uncomfortable health issues, and the more I got into cooking, I felt that I cannot be a good cook if I didn’t know how baking worked. Gluten worked. Over last year it has become increasingly more uncomfortable mentally and physically. I started getting migraine nearly every week ( I am prone) I developed eczema that I never had .. my gp suggested to come off gluten and see what happens. I gotten negative test result in the past and might have to get tested again as at the time where I went the nhs was so overwhelmed that I didn’t even get a follow up. It has been hard, to admit that this is happening to me and that this is now a health issue and that it might not go away. In my head I think just one more. Slice of cake. Its ok its a burger. Its ok.. and then I end up having brain fog for days, red marks under my eyes and more issues. Just thought I ‘ll share this, as I want to make food and focus on food that is naturally gluten free And I thought it is important to be honest.

Yes. We are here November. Nights are cold, days are short. Lots of tea for you and lots and lots of broths for me.
Been working on a project full time, so my creative brain needs a good recharge every night. Simple gluten free tamari broth and some slow cooked pork does the trick. To be honest with you this has been on repeat minus the pork for a week. It was actually developed in summer, but remade it so many times to finally say its perfect. • happy cold month everyone•

And her story goes like this: her mum was from a sea town from Easern Northern Europe. They didn’t celebrate Halloween instead they used to visit the graves of their dead relatives. In the the evening people would go and light candles in old gloomy cemeteries that have been there for hundreds of years. The whole cemetery would lit up and candle lights and families visiting the graces of their parents that have passed. Later the family found themselves in Australia and the girl grew up surrounded my all the beautiful and dangerous Australian nature. In Australia things we’re different, the Native people of this land had different traditions. Dreamtime. Aboriginal culture believed in Dreamtime. Before there was anything there was dreamtime. The Aboriginals performed ceremonies and near the sacred sites to please the Ancestral spirits and to keep themselves alive. Sadly these traditions were taken from the Native and the land became overwhelmingly ill with imperialist rule and new traditions were reinforced by the occupation. The girl only now has released on how important certain traditions are and how lucky people are to have them. •

Big part of cooking is revisiting. Wouldn’t exchange this dish for anything else. I loved watching my grandmother make these for me. She always made it by hand. Her dumplings were the best. I started my quest a year and half ago, to make if the way she did. Still working on it. These are nearly there. She would never eat them with smoky oil but I would. Meat or vegetarian both delicious. Perfect warming comfort in a bowl. Happy Monday🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂
