Stat of the Week: 42,804

That’s how many orders we keyed, picked and delivered across the business in August.
42,804 individual orders.
Behind every one is a customer, a kitchen and a team of people making sure the right products get to the right place, at the right time.
From the first order being keyed, through our warehouse teams picking and checking, to our drivers getting everything safely delivered — it takes the whole business working together.
And when you think about what’s inside those 42,804 orders… fresh produce, Scottish fine foods, foodservice essentials and everything in between… it’s a serious amount of work happening behind the scenes.
42,804 orders. One month. One hell of a team. 👏

Produce Fact of the Week 🥑
Ever wondered why a perfectly good avocado can turn brown so quickly once it’s cut?
It’s all down to oxidation. Exposing the flesh to oxygen triggers a natural enzymatic reaction — hence the colour change.
A little lemon or lime juice can help slow things down, which is handy when prepping ahead for service.
Simple produce knowledge that can make a difference in the kitchen.
Got a produce question you'd like us to answer? Leave it in the comments — it could feature in a future Produce Fact!

Three products that go together. 🍅🌿🧄
Tomatoes. Basil. Garlic.
Three simple ingredients, but put them together and you've got the foundations for so many great dishes.
From a simple tomato salad to pasta, bruschetta or a rich tomato sauce — the possibilities are endless.
What three products would you put together?

🍂 As the seasons change, so does the produce...

Here's another three I'd have on the radar as we head towards autumn:

🍎 UK Discovery apples
🟣 Turkish figs
🥬 UK Cavolo Nero

From the first crisp British apples to sweet, rich figs and those deep green autumnal leaves, there's plenty coming into its own as the season moves on.
Three products to watch. Three more reasons to look ahead.
What's starting to appear on your autumn menu? 👀

As Royal Warrant Holders, we were incredibly proud and privileged to welcome a group of our customers, partners and suppliers to the Braemar Gathering.
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was something else — the crowds, the pipe bands, the Highland traditions, the spectacular setting and the sheer excitement of the day made it a truly memorable occasion.
Most importantly, it was a fantastic opportunity to spend time with some of the people we work with and value so much.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special.
And a massive shout-out to Mike Wilson for looking after the Royal Warrant hospitality tent. Mike was on the go all day, making sure everyone was welcomed, looked after and, most importantly, that nobody's glass was left empty!
A very special Scottish occasion — and one we were extremely proud to be part of.

Stat of the Week: 120 👥
That’s the combined 120 years of experience across four of our senior managers, covering Transport, Operations and Procurement.
Four people. Three key areas of the business. 120 years of knowledge, experience and understanding.
That experience plays a huge part in keeping everything moving — from sourcing the right products and managing our operations to getting thousands of orders where they need to be, when they need to be.
But it's not just about the number of years. It's about the knowledge built up, the challenges overcome and the experience shared with the next generation of our team.
120 years of experience. Four people. One great team. 👏

📍Aberdeen — keeping the North East supplied.

A little bit of love for our Aberdeen team. 👏
From Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to the surrounding areas, our team works hard every day to keep chefs, restaurants, hotels, pubs and caterers across the North East of Scotland supplied with the products they need.
Fresh Scottish produce, seasonal favourites, fine foods, foodservice essentials and all the kitchen staples that keep professional kitchens moving — there’s a lot more going on behind the scenes than you might think.
And while the produce gets the attention, it’s the people behind it who make it happen.
From receiving and checking the deliveries, to picking orders, loading vehicles and getting everything out on the road, the Aberdeen team are up early and working hard to make sure the right products get to the right kitchens, at the right time.
It’s a busy operation, and one that takes plenty of teamwork. 💪
So, next time you see one of our Aberdeen vehicles out on the road, remember there’s a whole team behind it — quietly keeping the North East’s kitchens supplied, day in, day out.
A big shout-out to the Aberdeen crew. 👏
Aberdeen depot. Proudly supplying the North East of Scotland. 🍅🥕🥬

Thinking ahead to autumn?
The seasons are changing, and it's never too early to start thinking about what's going on the menu.
Scottish carrots
UK beetroot — red, golden & candy
Celeriac
Three versatile products that lend themselves beautifully to autumn cooking, from roasting and puréeing to pickling, salads and everything in between.

Supporting Scottish produce at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Last we were delighted to support an event at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, celebrating and highlighting the fantastic range of Scottish suppliers and products available . Our very own Colin Bell did an excellent job on the day .
As a fresh produce supplier to the hospital, it was great to step away from the delivery side of what we do and meet some of the people who enjoy the produce we supply.
Throughout the day, NHS staff had the chance to sample a selection of Scottish produce — including some rather lovely Blacketyside strawberries 🍓, Sarah Gray's Preserves, fine scottish cheeses and delicous Rora yogurts.
It was a brilliant turnout, with plenty of interest, plenty of tasting… and, judging by the empty sample plates, plenty of approval too! 👏
Huge thanks to Loraine Hartley for organising this worthwhile event.
We’re incredibly proud to play our part in connecting Scottish growers with the NHS Scotland, helping bring great local produce to hospital kitchens and ultimately onto the plates of patients and staff.
A big thank you to the team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for inviting us along and to everyone who stopped by to say hello and sample the produce.
Scottish produce. Scottish suppliers. Making a difference, day by day.
