Scottish Craft Brewers Scottish home brewing group working with amateur brewers to educate and enable improvements in their brewing.

Many members have moved on to commercial brewing and we work with Erasmus Plus partners in Germany and beyond on a brewer exchange programme.

Well done to all the SCB entrants in the Norwich Amateur Brewers fields of gold competition.

Alex Hall Richard Brown Andrew Aitchison all medalled on their respective tables. Laura Braid went one better and won her table with an (on theme) Scottish 60-/-, which got an HM in the Best of Show!

3rd place club over all too which was great!

Well done to all the entrants, and let's hope the feedback is constructive and leads us on to better things next year.

What a weekend!

Scottish Craft Brewers completed our latest weekend away to beautiful Bamberg.

Glorious weather, amazing tour of the world famous Schlenkerla Brewery and a field trip to neighbouring Oberelsbach and the outstanding Pax Bräu brewery to brew a Scottish Heather Ale (In Bavaria!).

We cannot wait to get our hands on the b**r in a month or two.

An essential pilgrimage for any self confessed b**r enthusiast, but also a stunning location with lots of amazing people.

Another successful AGM very generously hosted by our president Donald Mactaggart.

The group brew day consisted of a Saison with spruce tips freshly harvested from the surrounding Pentland hills, with honorary brewing assistant Eddie the Jack Russell keeping us right.

Aside from that we got to sample some world class b**rs including Cantillon and Russian River's Pliny the Younger.

The SCB brewer of the year award went to Richard Brown.

But most importantly we redoubled efforts to drive the club forward. With highlighted plans including

- Continuing our very successful BJCP judge training programme.

- Organising our popular domestic and international trips to b**r festivals and b**r destinations.

- Diversifying our midweek meeting to include educational talks and guest speakers.

- And finally with the club entering our 30th year, we will be looking to do some collaboration brews with some fantastic local breweries to mark the occasion, along with other events to mark this amazing milestone.
