We're building a remarkable new wh**ky distillery in Scotland's capital city, harnessing years of research into yeast and fermentation in Scotch Wh**ky production, the brightest minds in the industry, single estate malted barley from our region and casks from the finest producers around the world.

We’re delighted to share that our Head of Wh**ky, Vaibhav Sood, has been awarded the Rising Star Award at the International Spirits Challenge 2026!

The award recognises a young individual who has shown exceptional talent in the distillation and production of spirits, and it was announced earlier this week at the ISC Awards Ceremony in London (stay tuned for photos of him in his kilt).

In his words: “Thank you to everyone at ISC and the judging panel, I’m thrilled to accept this award. I’d also like to give my heartfelt thanks to Ian & Paddy, and Port of Leith Distillery, for giving me the opportunity to work and make a name in the wh**ky space. Onwards and upwards.”

Huge congratulations from everyone at Port of Leith, Vaibhav! It’s very well deserved.

It’s all quiet on the western front 🍂

Our new opening hours start from today: we’ll be closed Mondays and Tuesdays and open Wednesday to Sunday across tours, the shop, and up in the bar.

After a few weeks of annual maintenance, the distillery is up and running again. Between mid August and mid September the team gave the equipment a thorough going-over, with a full round of preventive maintenance, repairs and modifications, so everything is in top form for the months of distilling ahead.

Behind every good dram is a lot of unglamorous spanner work, and we’re very grateful to the people who do it. It’s good to have the stills back on 🥃

On the top floor, Port of Leith Distillery Bar will be welcoming one of the nation’s hottest acts, Mànran. Down in the heart of the distillery, the Quality Control floor will see local heroes Callanish return for a fun-fuelled ceilidh from start to finish.

Today we welcome two new additions to the Leith Bond Single Cask Range.

Cawdor Springs - 8 years old, distilled at Royal Brackla, matured in refill bourbon and finished in a Fino sherry hogshead. Lemon, olive brine and chamomile. 59.7% ABV, and only 230 bottles available.

🦭 Its label, “Seal of Approval,” nods to Royal Brackla’s history as the first distillery ever granted a royal warrant - over a century before the one that made Royal Lochnagar famous.

Benriach - 12 years old, matured in refill bourbon. Orange marmalade, toffee, herb butter. 54.5% ABV, and only 205 bottles available.

🌾 Its label, “Go the Extra Mile,” is a nod to the years Benriach’s own stills fell silent, while its floor maltings kept working - supplying malted barley down the road to Longmorn.

Both are available now: in store, online, and pouring at our bars. Sláinte 🥃

Travel update: due to the ongoing disruption, trams aren’t currently running to Leith & Newhaven, but it’s easy to reach us by bus. Please check Lothian Buses timetables for details.

One week in and we’re delighted to see Table Wh**ky cans turning up in some very good places already. The new can contains exactly the same wh**ky found in every bottle of Table Wh**ky. Delicious.
