OLD PAL x BLIND SUMMIT x ROSIE REES // New collab bottling 🏝

A 7 Year Old Bunnahabhain finished in Barbados Rum and bottled at a whopping 58.6% cask strength. Cask and finish selected by the team at@oldpal_edin , original design by .

Drawn from the very first cask James and Jamie bought together at the start of Blind Summit, chosen by the old pals. A delicious bourbon barrel Bunna, now with a rum twist.

"Toasted coconut and waxy barley over honeyed bourbon oak, with a coastal salty edge. A wee sprinkle of tropical rum character gives it notes of banana bread, dried pineapple and a brown sugar glaze.

Long time fans will remember the Bunnahabhain 11 Barbados Rum, easily one of the most loved releases of the last three years. If you liked that one, get along to Old Pal and try this sibling release.

The incredible label art by Rosie Rees features a crazy 2,257 individually placed dots 🤯

Just 55 bottles, available exclusively from Old Pal. Head down to try it, makes a belter of a Guinness hauf n hauf 🧡

SPIRIT OF THE FRINGE // What a weekend we had at . Throughout the weekend we ran a very excited and fun campaign to make the top 10 voted for drams (AKA the Spirit of the Fringe). They've now counted the votes and we're sad to say this wasn't our year 🥲

We put a lot of heart into our first outing at Mansfield Traquair: a new banner (brighter and more colourful than ever), new stickers, new t-shirts (launching soon), seven unique whisky releases, three humongous half time orange drams, and a whole lot of hand shaking and campaigning for votes.

On the day our Jura 20 Year Old, Glen Garioch 18 and the Napa Valley Glen Elgin were the ones people kept coming back for, and we collected 102 half time orange vouchers. Not bad at all for a first go!

If you missed them, our half time oranges were:

Friday and Saturday, a sneak peek at an old Macallan release coming soon
Sunday, Bunnahabhain 51 Year Old Sherry Cask

The bar was set high this year with some great drams from our pals and neighbouring indie bottlers. To everyone who enjoyed our whiskies and took time to vote for Blind Summit, we're super grateful, thank you for the continued support.

Catch yas next year on the campaign trail 🫡

Huge thanks to everyone who came by to taste, chat, give us drams, hugs and high fives ✋ Good to see so many pals, thanks to the whole team at and for the support.

A big full circle moment for us, from working here several years ago to pouring our own whiskies at , thanks for making it such a fun weekend.

Here it is...our first white wine cask 🌼

GLEN ELGIN 11 // Napa Valley Chardonnay Barrique!! Ten years of classic honeyed Speyside in a bourbon hogshead, then a final year in Chardy barrique. We had a mix of nerves and excitement waiting for this one to be ready.

An instantly inviting dram that opens on peach Campinos, dried mirabelle plum and apricot, with almond croissant, icing and amaretti, before white grape must and a lees-y creaminess take over. Lemon curd, pear and fleshy yellow fruit follow with chamomile honey, toasty corn kernel and buttery nutmeg, finishing long on almond cake, juicy plums and ginger spice.

Nice and warm at cask strength with balancing mouthfeel, and the booze carries the flavour beautifully. Takes water well too if you fancy a hydration break from all these cask strength drams.

160 bottles // 56.7% // Napa Valley Chardonnay Barrique

Exquisite OTIX artwork 🎨 continues with creating his version of the Fairy Pools with colours paired to the whiskies character.

ISLE OF JURA 20 // The rarest whisky in this Outturn by some distance, a tiny 60 bottle release. Twenty years of completely undisturbed maturation in a refill Oloroso butt, and a whisky we've been looking forward to sharing for a long time.

A shy dram at first, it opens with time and rewards patience. Earthy orchard fruit and apple rings with leather, salt and a soft coastal edge. Restrained yet complex on the palate, caramels and to***co leaf over a dry but juicy core, with a herb liqueur note somewhere near yellow chartreuse. Dry and lingering, leather and gentle salt carrying through to the end.

We're sold out at HQ, and there are just 3 to 6 bottles with each of our regular stockists, so this is one to hunt down. They're all lovely people, go say hello ⛰🥃

GLEN GARIOCH 18 // The second oldest whisky from Outturn IX, and a fine example of why this distillery has such a loyal following. Seventeen years quietly maturing in refill bourbon, then re-racked into a first fill Oloroso hogshead from a sherry producer we know and love.

It's got this beautiful rich orange colour and a deep waxy character. Quince and red apple skin, honey, beeswax and orange blossom. Bergamot, orange rind and polenta cake with marmalade on the palate, closing on a bitter amaro note that holds on and on. Belter of a whisky and a nice nod to proper sherry casks and well integrated finishing.

DALMUNACH 7 // First up from Outturn IX, fully matured in Amontillado sherry, with a Blind Summit twist. We drew a portion off into a 30 litre Amontillado bloodtub, then married it back together. The result is the mid palate concentration we felt the cask was missing, plus a little extra aromatic lift.

We had far too much fun writing the notes for this one. Stewed green apple, white grape, melon and gooseberry on the nose, with pistachio, orgeat and a touch of rancio. Rich and round on the palate, toffee and tablet developing, then ginger and gentle spice. Does anyone make oxidised granny smith fudge?

A complex dram for real sherry and Speyside fans.

Precision pour 👀 James putting out Ardmore 11 Year Old Virgin Oak at Dundee Whisky Festival a couple of weeks back. A brilliant day, great crowd. Huge thanks for putting on such an enjoyable event.

Long days, whisky festivals. So worth it though to be getting out and meeting so many people, hearing your feedback, and bumping into folk who've been following along since the early days.

Next tour stop is Inverness, July 11th. We'll have some sneak previews of our sherry-mad Outturn IX with us. 🤘⛰️ Very excited to introduce them properly in a few weeks.

Thanks to Liam for the brilliant snaps.

Inaugural Festival Release, and our smallest single malt bottling ever. Just 30 bottles in total.

We’re keeping this one festival-only - partly because there’s genuinely not much of it, and partly because we like the idea of you finding it in the wild. If you spot us on a festival bill this year, come say hello.

The label is the first in a nine-part series, each a different colourway. Artwork by , 90s rave-inspired, featuring the Old Man of Storr. One dot filled. Eight to come.
