TOP TIER WHISKY // Caol Ila 10 🥃🔥

Proof that not all Caol Ila is built the same. This 10-year-old Islay spent its last 6 months on the 14th tier of the warehouse. We popped this wee fella up in the lofty rafters back in March and boy was it a toasty summer. Take a moment, close your eyes, see if you can remember what the sun felt like! ❄

The result? The best description so far is caramelised bacon. A whisky that’s classic Caol Ila at heart, but also absolutely shaped by our curious whiskymaking. First Fill Woodford Reserve bourbon barrel meets big smoky Islay malt meets a belter of a Scottish summer. Soft, smouldering bonfire smoke, crispy smith's bacon fries and sweet desserts.

A very special whisky and a tiny release of only 210 bottles. Perfect gifting for curious Islay fans 🎁🥃

TWO YEARS OF WHISKY // Outturns I – VII 🎉🥃

A look back at some of the amazing bottlings and artists who have shaped Blind Summit across our first two years. Seven Outturns, dozens of casks, a lot of late nights and some incredible artwork along the way.

It’s the season for gifting, and you can still find our single malts from Glencadam, Mortlach, Miltonduff, Caol Ila, and many more at independent retailers across the UK.

Thanks for supporting us. Hoping to see lot's of you sharing a Blind Summit this Christmas 🎄🎁

Here’s to more casks, more creativity and more drams shared in year three.

TWO YEARS // Blind Summit Turns Two 🎉🥃

We can’t quite believe it. Blind Summit is two, and somehow we’ve bottled 33 whiskies in that time.
It’s been intense, hands on, wildly labour heavy and loads of fun.

A huge thank you to everyone who has picked up a bottle, poured a dram, shared a post or joined us at a tasting. Your support has made this little independent project feel genuinely alive.

Thank you to all the artists who have collaborated on these bright and beautiful labels, and to everyone behind the scenes who helped us bring these wee whiskies to life.

Here’s to year three. More casks, more graft, more late nights and hopefully a few surprises along the way.

Thanks for being here with us.

LOCHEND BLEND // TWO DOWN 🥃⛰️

This week we said goodbye to the last of our tasty blended malt, volume II of The Lochend Blend.

You can still track a bottle down by ordering from our trusty retailers, but for us it’s very much sold out.

The support for this range has been amazing, we set out to make a well priced blended malt that could sit on the shelf at £35 and reflected much of the style we’d been putting out with our single casks.

After the first release, which was smokey and sweet with that Aussie Tawny cask and Ledaig heavy blend, we switched to a more Coastal Highland style for this Volume II.

A fruity, salty blend of Blair Athol, with older Tomintoul and Tamnavulin, for mid palate weight, Bunnahabhain, and a touch of Ledaig. All five single malts then married in one St Emilion barrique.

The result is a fresh yet textured whisky with flavours of salty apricots, peach and malt biscuits. It’s serious enough to be sipped and suits a hauf n hauf or a highball beautifully.

This Lochend Blend II is still available, in small amounts, at our trusted retail partners. ✨

BEERHIVE x BLIND SUMMIT x SINNISTER BREW

14TH BIRTHDAY RELEASE // TOMINTOUL 10 YEAR OLD 🥃🍂🍻

Finished in a Sinnister Imperial Stout Cask and exclusive to

This started as a chat over a few pints, trying to come up with something special for Beerhive’s 14th birthday. The fact we actually pulled it off still feels like a minor miracle.

Huge thanks to Logan for donating one of his Imperial Stout casks. Sinnister only make Imperial Stout and it is outstanding, so when one of those rare barrels was emptied, we moved fast. Pete collected the cask the same day (after tasting the stout), then drove it to Fife with the barrel wedged in the back. The wedges did not hold. Every corner required a full body lean to stop the hoops hitting the windows. A glamorous operation.

In the warehouse, James re-racked our Tomintoul 10 immediately. Beer to whisky in just over an hour. About as fresh a finish as you get, and important

The result:
The base Tomintoul was already fruity: raspberry, peach, malt biscuit, barley sugar.
The stout cask added roasted coffee, dark chocolate and molasses richness.
The kind of flavour that makes you nod at the glass and say, "yes, that works." You know those high altitude single origin coffees that taste so good, all fruity and lean...those vibes.

A few months finish, big flavour.
Only 62 bottles of this exist, exclusively from Beerhive.

Label artwork by Tommy brings in Cannonmills history, Beerhive bees and celebrates their 14 years of hard work. Fourteen years is no small thing for an independent business. We are two years in and we feel it.

Sharing this one together as a brewer, bottler and shop is the bit that matters.

Serve:
With pals. With Sinnister beers.
Keep a small sample aside to compare to future releases. This cask will return in... Beerhard II and III: Beerhard with a Vengeance. Yippee-ki-yay!

NEW WHISKY ALERT // MORTLACH 12 🔥🥃

Full flavoured whisky doesn’t begin to describe this! Already a great cask of Mortlach, then a further 5 years maturation in a single First Fill Australian Shiraz Cask. There is a lot to wrap your head around here. This is a huge whisky and one for lovers of bold malts.

Nose:
Deep and expressive, with aromas of dark berries, plum skin and redcurrant over layers of polished oak, cocoa and cured leather. Hints of clove, eucalyptus and dried herbs lift the richness, while Mortlach’s meaty depth provides a firm backbone. 🫐

Palate:
Opens with dried fruits and dark honey before turning distinctly savoury, showing notes of roasted malt, soy, and charred oak. The texture is dense and umami-laden, balanced by a gentle sweetness of spiced fruit and wine tannin. Complex, structured and mouth- coating, it finishes long and dry with lingering oak spice and a subtle savoury warmth. 🍯

Production Notes:
Distilled: 28.08.2013
7 years in refill Bourbon Hogshead

Re-racked into first fill Mitchell’s Australian shiraz barrel, in 2019.
Matured on the 14th tier, Lowland Bond warehouse.
