Heriot-Watt University Student Union We exist for one reason - to put students first, always. The Union building is home to our food & beverage outlets & events venue.

Heriot-Watt University Student Union is an independent, democratic, student-led non-profit supporting over 10,000 students across 3 campuses in Scotland. Life at university is about more than your course, so our goal is to make your experience at Heriot-Watt, the best it can be. The Union offers robust, high-quality events & spaces supporting our diverse community at the Edinburgh campus. We also

run The Advice Hub & The Shop in the Hugh Nisbet Building. HWUnion provides opportunities to our students to enhance their academic experience & improve their employability prospects through volunteering & societies.

Week of Welcome is getting more WOW by the minute. 👀

Here’s what not to miss tomorrow as the week gets into full swing:

School Mixer: EGIS 🥳 | 3PM - 4PM
Our school mixers are kicking off. Head to Zeros and meet people from your school over some refreshments😊

Bowling Trip 🎳 | 4:30PM - 8PM.
Get to know your fellow freshers over a game of bowling.

Union House Party 🪩| 9PM - 3PM
For one night only, the Union becomes one giant house party with something happening around every corner. From late night café to drag bingo. Basically, there's something for everyone.

Now that's the tea! So we'll see you there tomorrow 🤩

🎉 Launch Party
Everyone’s buzzing and ready to socialise. Whether you’re into dancing the evening away or fancy a late-night coffee, it’s a great night to meet people and make some new friends.

🏴 Scotland Day
Whether you’ve lived in Scotland your whole life or you’re completely new to it, you have to experience a proper Scottish welcome. Goodies, storytelling and, yes, a ceilidh 💃

🎪 Watt Welcome Fair
If you can’t wait to get stuck into uni life, listen to us, this one’s for you. Sports clubs, societies, stalls and LOADS of freebies. What more could you want?

🍷 W**e & Cheese
Postgrads, we’ve got you. Come together, have a chat over w**e (or soft drinks), enjoy some cheese and settle into a cosy atmosphere. It doesn’t get much classier than this.

Statement to our trans students following the recent EHRC guidance

We recognise that recent developments have created uncertainty and concern for many members of our community.

We want to be clear that every student deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. Your wellbeing, safety and sense of belonging matter to us, and we are committed to making sure our Union remains a welcoming and supportive space for all students.

We stand with our trans students and will continue to listen, support and advocate for our community.
