Drinkmonger Bruntsfield Specialist drinks merchants with a slight bias towards champagne, sherry & cocktails. Pop in, check us out and have a wee taste of something.

Passionate about the world of alcohol, we have a selection of pretty much every type of liquor available. We are keen to get any new products in if you have suggestions and we do lots and lots of in store tastings. We have wine from New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, France, Spain, America, Italy, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, England, Germany, Austria and anywhere else that grows grapes! As well as this, we have sherry, port, marsala, sake, Champagne and sparkling wine. We have beers ranging from IPA's, Black IPA's, Stouts, Whisky Cask aged beers, fruit infused scottish ales, Kolsch, German smoked beer, ginger beer, strawberry beer, cherry beer, wheat beer, coffee beer, chocolate beer, orange wheatbeer and anything else with barley, hops and yeast in it. We have over 100 rums from Molasses Golden Rum, through to Dark Spiced Rum, Coconut Rum, Rum Agricole. Rum from Jamaica, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Barbados, Columbia, Mexico, Austalia, Guyana and many more exotic places. We have a huge selection of Scotch, Bourbon, American Whiskey, Irish Whiskey, Japanese Whisky, Liqueurs and Blends. Vodka, Gin (lots of gin), tequila, mezcal, liqueurs and pretty much anything else you can think of. We'll even let you pick the music and pat the shop dog!

We’ve got an exciting new event coming up at Drinkmonger Bruntsfield. On Wednesday 28th October, we’re hosting Aberargie’s Celebrate the Barley tasting, and it’s one we’re really looking forward to.🌾

Aberargie is a family distillery just outside Perth that grows its own barley, so it’s a lovely way to discover how much the grain shapes what ends up in your dram. Following their Inaugural Release, the team have bottled two new single malts that each focus on one variety: the Golden Promise Edition, made entirely from the heritage barley, and the Laureate Edition. Both are matured in first fill bourbon and first fill sherry casks, with the cask recipe flipped between the two, so tasting them side by side is a proper treat for the curious.🥃

Thomas Cuthbert, Aberargie’s brand ambassador, will guide you through both, along with four more drams from the wider Morrison Distillers family. You’ll try Mac-Talla Mara and Mac-Talla PX from their Islay range, plus two unreleased single casks from Càrn Mòr that you won’t find on any shelf just yet. Can’t tell your Golden Promise from your Laureate? That’s what the evening is for 🥃

A staff favourite, and a recipe you'll come back to all summer long ☀️

When we asked the team for their warm-weather drink of choice, the answer was a Hugo Spritz - our version uses Edinburgh Gin Elderflower Liqueur for a local twist on the classic and is so simple to make at home! 🍸

Fill a large glass with ice, add a good measure of Edinburgh Gin Elderflower Liqueur, top with prosecco and a splash of soda, then finish with plenty of fresh mint 🌿 That's all there is to it.
Light, floral and wonderfully refreshing, it's exactly the thing to have in hand on a sunny afternoon 🥂

The sun's making an appearance, so naturally our minds have turned to the good stuff ☀️ and this right here is at the top of our summer list at Drinkmonger.
The Schöfferhofer Watermelon Mint is a German wheat b**r with a brilliantly refreshing watermelon and mint twist. It's light, fruity and so easy to drink, the kind of thing you'll happily reach for in the garden or take along to a barbecue 🍉

We've always believed in championing the brilliant producers on our own doorstep- and Ninefold are a perfect example.🤝

A small Scottish distillery doing genuinely interesting things, their Dormant Spiced is one we keep coming back to: warm baking spice, a little orchard fruit and a smooth, rounded finish, lovely over ice, or as the backbone of a really good cocktail.
Supporting independent Scottish producers like this is a big part of what we're about here at Drinkmonger.
