This one isn’t about the bottle of wine or beer you might fancy today, it’s about the bottle of wine or beer you bought from us previously. We got the honour of being invited to a very special event yesterday to celebrate the opening of award winning garden from last years flower show. Thanks to fundraising support with our charity partner you have helped make this possible but we all did the easy bit. With the massive help to sponsor the logistics of 5 artic lorry’s to leave the Chelsea site and arrive Palace Rigg Country Park it was the volunteers, members and staff at watch us grow who brought it to life. Trees transplanted, the pergola and fountains that make smiles beam have found a forever home to are open to everyone. Thank you for helping us be a small part of this special event, if you would like to know more there is a link to Downs Syndrome Scotlands page in bio. The plants and flowers are all for sale on the other side of

16 years ago today we opened our first two shops, thanks go to every single member of the Vino family that got us here. One of the biggest learnings has been that someone leaving to go off into the wider drinks trade and make a huge success is to be celebrated too. Be it a PhD, national sales or wine buyer, the sense of feeling that after time with us it helped to bridge that route into the next level puts a smile on my face.

The biggest thanks go to our customers who have stayed loyal though economic calamity, insane global leaders and the pandemic. Small business is hard, high street retail and hospitality industry are under enormous pressure as real inflation on costs is more like 30% a year. Please support other wine shops, support the local bars run by the workers as the high street needs you now more than ever

Next stop 20yrs :) 🍷

Sunday’s in Stockbridge are a hive of marketeers and shoppers out for lunch or a treasure hunt in the local charity shops. This mirror was unearthed yesterday and we had to have it for the window , drilling into the side of castle rock might have been needed to hold its own weight though.

Every day you can taste from a range if chilled wines, reds and some treats like this German Pinot Noir rose.

Free tasting all day, everyday on North West Circus Place so you can pair that awesome cheese from

Immense Gin doesn’t have to be pink or flavoured like a bag of berries had their essence stolen by a distiller. since we first got bottles on the shelves have been a firm locally made favourite with staff and customers. Botanicals matter for flavours, oils and the balance of style between them all.

Juniper is the heart of London Dry Gin, giving richness, coriander for citrus herbal notes, Liquorice Root for sweet wood, Angelica Root earthy, Orris Root for power, Sichuan Peppercorns are magical citrus spice and sweetness, Fennel Seed for light herbal aniseed

The result is a Gin fit for the best Martini’s or a 50/50G&T

Pinot Noir blended with Gewürztraminer was not my fantasy pick for the 2026 season but there it is, Bazar by name but it really works. As an alternative to pale rose that fits a white wine setting this is a chilled, if lighter red wine. Think warm day, barbecue, strong char and burgers, this is so refreshing with light tannins the fruit really works with the acidity from the German white style. Produced in the Languedoc-Roussillon region this is a style young French Drinkers are picking for flavour and body but also the affordability

We paired with homemade offering of the French apero Cakes salés, lardons and olives with lots of delicious Gruyère Cheese.

Being in a room with 700 wine lovers was made perfect by sharing the stage with for the first time, pouring her wee arms out. If you shop with us you know we all love the drinks we sell but partnering with the best isn’t an easy selection. first on the list was a perfect pairing with so many full on wines in the room. Bazar Pinot Noir and magnums of the Cotes Du Thau Rose flying, the San Marzano Primitivo a real hit but it was the Krohn white port with tonic water that impressed the most
